Picked this up this past weekend. 01 Sport. 153k. FACTORY BONE STOCK.

Plans for this vehicle are to build a reliable, comfortable, but also capable and practical, daily driver.

Will see 99% on road use. (lots of snow here in Michigan) Might take it down some 10ft wide seasonal roads thru some sand/gravel in the summer. This won't be a mud vehicle.

On order: H4 Bulbs, upgraded housings, upgraded harness

Awaiting install: Alpine head unit, pioneer 5.25's for the front doors.

On order: H4 Lights/Harness

Waiting Install: Headunit/door speakers

Future plans

Soon (as in like within a week or two)
-New drivers side door hinge...current squeaks and creaks
-Cruise control module (has it on the steering wheel, but no module?)
-pass side tailight (small crack)
-rad. mount trans cooler
-cargo-cubby mounted 10" subwoofer

Then trying to decide where to go from there. I was originally thinking the wheels that are on it with some 29 9.50 all terrains. (DuraTracs, Silent Armors, BFGs etc) and that being done...now some fellow XJ buddies are trying to convince me to go with a 2" Budget Boost and some Moab/Rubi style wheels with some 30's...

I didn't wanna lift it because of how clean this vehicle is, and how nice it rides, and the gas mileage. But if I can get away with the BB and the slightly larger wheels/tires...I may make the sacrifice. It would look pretty mean.

Currently deciding whether I want to remove the plastic trim on the sides, remove the pin stripe, and remove the badging...or not.

Pretty sure the car has been painted. Had my body guy check it out, he says he's not even sure. If it WAS, they did a phenomenal job with the trim/door jambs etc, and he can't even tell. The reason I believe it was, is if you notice, one door says "Cherokee Sport" and the other says "Sport Cherokee" lol I laughed hysterically when I noticed this.

I'm afraid if I de-badge/de-stripe/de-mold it, the paint will not look very good. Opinions?

Update: Got the Alpine CDE-121 installed last night

http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/cde-121

I've built several competition stereo's over the years, and no, this jeep will not get one. But I had to make a few improvements, Alpine is great bang for the buck.

Pioneer (cheaper, but much better then stock) 5.25's in the doors and 6.5's in the bar.

One issue I'm having is when I bought the jeep, the drivers side door speaker wasn't working. Now I've replaced the headunit and speaker, and still no sound...gotta run a new wire :-( that's not gonna be fun.

Considering an injector swap...been reading up on it, can I use Neon injectors in my 01?

An 01 should need 784s not 703s IIRC. But nontheless they are both neon injectors
