Default project trail rig

so as some of you know i got a 88 cherokee for 50 bucks cus it was in a reck so i deciced to start a build thread to show progress and get some ideas from you guys heres my plan.pulling motor tomaro and then it starts!will have pictures up tomaro

engine

all new gaskets(on order)

port head and intake manifold

new cam(need help in which one to)

high volume oil pump(on order)

high volume water pump

tune up with live wires

for the body dont plan on doing much cause its probaly going to get dents but goin to try to straighten out fender well,just going to add tube doors

drivetrain

shift kit(need help choosing option, choose meaning like off road,street,strip,race)

aftermarket pan

posi lok engagement system

locker in front(need help in choosing that)

aftermarket covers

thats my build idea for now but i know its probaly going to grow haha but if anyone has any more idea or must for a trail rig,please tell

What size lift, & tires are you planning to go with? What rear axle is in it?

to be honest i dont knw what size rear end is in it i knw it has lsd haha i dont think its the 8.25 but the lift is going to be atleast a 4.5 i kinda want it to be a recovery rig too

an '88 won't have and 8.25 maybe a 44 if you are lucky, wanna see the pics of the $50 jeep!

Imo you would be better off buying a 500 dollar xj & useing that as a part jeep to get is running! Then part it out to get some money for a lift ect....

yea that was another idea but i dont plan on putting a ton of money into haha im going to buy another jeep as a street/wheeler later this is keeping me busy just want one i can get it and beat up with having to worry bout it ya knw?

I see what your stepin in... my only worry is cause the frame is kinked there is no way it will track strait down the road, or be safe for highway use!

it only for trails im goin to tow it it will never see high way speeds or be on public use its probaly goin to be a jeep to run on pismo and trails im going to try to pull it straight but if cant i was told it wasnt that bad to be a trail rig
