Update
So been a while since my last update. I Just had my first child at the end of last year so that has been a handfull!
But anyway after weeks of planning out my game plan on the roof chop I finally got it measured and marked the way I want. Here is some picks of the progress so far.
this was right after I cut the top sorry no in progress pics though

then I removed all the interior from the inside of the cut area. I bought 2 full sheets of aluminum about as thick as a stop sign i am going to construct the bed area of. the bars in this pic are not tacked in yet they are just sitting there mocked up you can see on the second pic how I am going to weld the bars into the c pillar than back to the d pillar wich should give me my strength back that plus the 1/4 inch plates i got for the frame rails should be good!

this next pic you can see the inch angle iron I put across the roof its painted black so its hard to see but the roof skin is riveted to the angle iron and I am making steel plates to tie the tubes, C pillar and roof angle iron all together.

Update!
Got a little more done today. Was able to get the rack mocked up still need to attach the clamps. also filled the rear fender wells with expanding foam just need to trim the access and clean. Also did a mock up of where I want the jerry can to go just need to weld up a mounting sytem.
Next start on bumpers! Still Not sure what I am going to do, I know I want as little weight as possible maybe just some tube bumpers with light tabs. not sure yet. After all the body work is done time to get some lift on it. So far leaning towards Clayton long arms and a 4.5. I figure with all the trimming and a 4.5 I should be able to stuff 36"s under it.
Here is the pics from this week!
