Yeah I bought energy suspension bushings that way I don't have to press anything out. I torched the ones off my 5100s though to remove the original bilstein bushings.

i drilled trough the bushings near the bar pin then used a socket and TRE puller to press it out

installed my new to me detours tail bone, every thing went pretty smooth this thing is held together by a bout a bazillion bolts so id say its pretty strong.

still need to get some lug nuts to permanantly mount the spare(stole 2 off the back wheels just to se it up there) and find a better solution to the liscense plate mount since i dont like the bracket they gave me that moves it over.

removed the hitch for now, might put it back on in the future

What are your impressions of the swivel pin for that swing out carrier? I've been looking at those, but I have some reservations:

  1. The swivel pin looks small to me. I have to believe that the engineers did their job well, but it seems a bit small considering the potential weight that bigger tires would place on it.
  2. The place where the pin is mounted is too close to the center of the bumper for my liking, I would like it to be more toward the edge, though I think I understand why they placed it where they did.
I'm curious because there are things that I like about the design, though I'd probably go with the slimline bumper route instead and modify it to suit my tastes.
