Ok,
so today I've started my fender flare install, but I have some other things to do first.
1) Cut and fold in the inner fender pinch seam
2) Reinstall the stock fender well liner and modify for my cut fenders.
First find and mark the spot welds

Then cut inbetween them and pound the sections back/flat

The bottom area has a screw along the pinch seam, I just cut and bent what metal there was there and bent the whole thing back.

Now I put my wheel well liner back in, and with my Dremel tool, I cut it to fit my fenders.

And along the top...

Cut pieces

The back portion stuck out a bit, so I fabbed up a small bracket to tuck it in place.

This is where the bracket will go...sheet metal screw with small washer, and a dab of RTV to hold it in, seal it.

And once it is on, tuck the rear portion behind the bracket.

Side view of tucked liner.

A couple of after the cut shots...

Front

I then used a hair dryer to take off the side moldings...I'm off to the store for some "goo off" or similar to get the tape residue off.

So far I am totally happy with them.

Never thought getting that residue from the trim pieces would be such a pain.
Here she is after...

I then started the Napier fender flare install...here is a side view of the areas that still need to be massaged.
The instructions assume that you have NOT cut your fenders yet. They are very good instructions. Very thourough.

Massaged rear area

Temporarily installed with one screw, washer, fender flare, rubber spacer...in that order, then I marked the rest with a small drill bit

I'm too lazy to remove the winshield washer tank, so I had a piece of sheet metal laying around...and made a shield. Worked great!

reinstalled temporarily for final look...all holes drilled, ready for bedliner and final install.

That's it for tonight...finish the install tomorrow

Ok,
so Im not going to go over all the steps again, it's all rinse and repeat.
Other side drilled, etc..

Other side the same...
Then I took them off and preped them for paint...

Now the waiting begins...supposed to dry in 4 hrs, but this time of year, make it 8 or more...lol At least that's how long my bumper and rock rails took.
Stay tuned...

Ok, so after overnight drying...second coat must be applied within 24 hrs of first coat.

After heavy second coat...

More drying now...then on to the Jeep

if you can get away from the poker table long enough to see it! lol
So the wife and I decide to go out to lake Mead today to drive around a bit. We took our dog with us and we were having a blast...

We come out of this dirt road onto the blacktop, when the Jeep suddenly gets really hard to stear. I pull over and see a river of coolant coming from under...I turn her off and opern her up.

The coolant is coming from the overflow bottle, the guage inside had not gone past 210 before I turned it off. The belt was twisted to **** and back.

I did not have a spare belt.
But it wouldn't of matterd...once I got the Jeep to Autozone, I put a new belt on and filled up the coolant. Thats when it became apparent that my fan pully was seized up.
Once I got it home I checked it out...

4 long bolts hold the AC Cond on the bracket/pully...the last one seized up on me and would not go either way.

So after 20 PB Blaster did the trick. Tomorrow I'll find out more about the pully...
