Default Project Rebirth

So about a month ago, I rolled my jeep (98 4x4 with 3.5" lift on 33s) by being stupid. Since the only thing damaged was the body, I started looking for a 97-01 xj for cheap and I finally got one! I found a white 2000 xj with 230000 miles and a blown trans for $1000. It has a strong engine and a nice body and interior butttttttt it's 2wd :/ although since I have a donor vehicle with a good trans and axle, I'm just gonna swap everything over and concert the new one to 4x4 which should be fairly easy. All in all, I should be able to do this for less than what it would have cost to claim it with insurance and pay the $1000 deductible. Anyways, this should be a fairly quick build and it will end up with the same 3.5" lift and 33s!

Sorry for the lack of updates but I got a lot done this weekend! First my dad and I pulled the bad transmission out of the new jeep and then we pulled the good tranny from the wrecked jeep and after cleaning it off a bit we started putting it in. It went pretty smooth but those torque converter bolts are a b**** but we got them on after a while. Once the tranny was in we went on to pull the rear axle from the new xj (it was fine but it had high miles and we already had the lifted leaf springs bolted onto the axle from the wrecked one) so we swapped over the axle and springs and now the rear end is lifted but not the front yet haha it looks kinda dumb right now but it's comin along!

Well it's pretty much done! This weekend we got the front axle in and the lift all done and the big tires on! I replaced the driveshaft u joints and got the rear driveshaft in but now I'm just waiting on some extended brake lines I ordered and I need another u joint to finish the front driveshaft and then it will be a fully functioning 4x4 xj!

thanks! Yea I'm pretty happy with it, I'm really glad to have a jeep again haha! And yea it was pretty clean aside from some sketchy wiring (I bought it from another teenager who decided to wire his subwoofer and head unit in the weirdest and most confusing way possible)

I got the rugged ridge 4" extended brake lines I only paid like 60 bucks for me and they seem pretty heavy duty
