Project "Newbie Offroader"
Ok like i said before, I got this jeep while in Afghanistan and was not really into offroading at all. I couldnt see myself doing this.Afterall Im a motorcycle junkie but growing Jeep junkie. But after going out with a friend and having a lil fun climbnig and trailing, I was hooked and decided to get my own... So while in Afghanistan, I put money to the side and starting doing a lil researching. I found my FIRST XJ and had my wife and a mechanic friend go look at it. The guy sold it to us for $2000 with 160k miles. Its a1998 SE 4.0 i6 4x4 with dana 30 front and chrysle 8.25 rear. Here is my new XJ...

Sucks but i had to get sumone else to do that. But everything else will b done by me and I'll start posting pics of the progress and will def take any ideas and advice from anyone. Heres a before and after pic of the jeep lift......

Nice looking XJ, can't wait to see what you have in store for it =)
don't worry about not installing the lift yourself, It's all good I myself would have spent the install money on a jack and set of stands cause you'll need them in the future but for now, I say screw it your lifted and Jeep looks sweet so now just go have some fun

Its a RC 3" lift ... My future mods are:
upgraded tie rods
adjustable trac bar
quickdisconnects
upper control arms
HD steering stabilizers
and finally 31x11.5x15......
after that I'll prolly start on the front and rear bumper then work my way onto the engine comparment. I tryng to redo my whole suspension first before anything else. Kinda how the saying goes, work my way from the bottom up LOL
