Talking project, negelect

well i picked up my very first 4x4 every! done lots and lots of reading about off roading and i choose a jeep cherokee. took about 7 months to find a decent one in my price range. also jeeps around here are quite hard to buy.

i think i got an awesome deal. the owner though the dam thing was going to explode. (making all kinds of clunks and bangs)

clunk #1 the exhaust was hitting the trans cross member.
bang #2 both rear shocks where garbage and not even attached anymore at the top.

thunk#3 front shock bushing? what shock bushings

the front wheel bearings where beyond needing replacement. balljoints? lol take a guess! nothing left! tierods where in great shape... front cv driveshaft? beyond repair had to get a new one. leaking fluids? doesnt concern me as long as she leaks it i know it has fluid! ha ha

fluid leaks where as follows....everything! trans lines leak, coolant leaks power steering, brake booster leaks, it had a remain seal leak at some point that had stopped. the t case has a small drip aswell!

first day i owned her

the jeep is a limted with 410,000, aw-4 and np242 t case it had an sye delete.
also had a ghetto t case drop and a 5.5 inch lift. fender flares, and some mismatched 33x12.5 tires on some eagal alloy rims.

i went ahead and fixed everything wrong with it. new fluids in everything cleaned the diffs up alittle did some track bar adjusting. changed all the ball joints and wheel bearings. fixed some leaks, new rear shocks new shock bushings in the front.

the dana 35 in the back is ready to explode. i have already went to the local junkmartpullapart. sourced a ford 8.8 rear end axle code D4 373 gears with limited slip. will post up pics as i start swapping the axles over!

Looks great to start, what are your plans for this build since it looks to be mostly there already?

Thanks! going to swap the rear axle to a ford 8.8 with some type of locker. have not decided yet on that. going to beef up the dana 30 front axle. custom roof rack, custom rock sliders.
going to beef up the unibody and clean everything up. going to be also painting it up this summer. also going to upgrade to a highsteer system.
