Haha. It's definitely come a long way since then..... Can't wait to see the end product when the new axles and 37s go in. And I try my best to do quality work with quality parts and not hack stuff lol. I hate having to do things twice. Which usually means adding a little overkill to the build

You might hate me more because I'm gunna be starting a crawler project soon. Just picked up the axles for it. 1999.5 F250 Super Duty axles for 1200bux with wheels tires and driveshafts. I think I got a good deal on them, but man are they HEAVY..... Goal for the crawler project is to do it under a 3k budget and to have it still be barely street legal and driveable enough to drive down the turnpike to Rausch if I had to. But probably going to end up towing it with my Jeep when its upgrades are done. Oh.... And the crawler might not be a Cherokee..... BLASPHEMY!!! Already have the vehicle. Just gotta figure out the no spark issue and get it running... I know the Jeep 4.0... Not the 4.0 in this thing haha...

Pfff, jeeps are never done

And is that an Explorer you're tinkering with? Or maybe a Land Rover?

This jeep was supposed to be done back when it was on 3" and 31s....

And you're wrong on both. Tinkering with a Ranger Building a truggy thingy. Was originally planning on swapping an entire XJ drive train into it, but then I realized that there is a strong possibility that I can get the Ford engine to run. So now I'm trying to track down the no spark issue. Lol

The best way to fix a ranger is to not take it in for the ignition switch recall and let the problem sort itself out.

but in all seriousness I had the same problem with my 92 2.3 ranger. The problem was the ignition coils like to arc across the bottom and burn themselves out after a good 100,000 miles or so. That however was the problem with mine. I guess its a common problem with all of them. Swap a V10 in there and call it good.

Since this build is still on pause for another couple months..... Might as well show ya'll what I've been up to with my dad's Jeep (Loki).

I'm about a week behind on this trailer update, but between recovering from doing 1300 miles in 2 days and then being all over the place after that, whatever lol. I'm only human.

Anywho.... I went to Elkhart, Indiana to pick up a 17' deck aluminum car trailer with electric brakes on both axles, 1200lbs, 7000lbs GVWR (might have gotten the GVWR/GCWR thing wrong. Idk. Whatever abbreviation that is appropriate lol). Could've had it shipped home; but when the opportunity for adventure presents itself, you take it no matter what. And since I had to drive through Ohio..... Might as well stop at the Toledo Assembly Complex in Toledo, Ohio on the way

Does the Jeep look a little out of place parked in between a Land Rover and a BMW? I dunno, but it sure is darn good looking

More shenanigans with Loki. Went to a Jeep meet that one of my buddies hosted at a bar in New Jersey yesterday. Had some fun on the RTI ramp and surprised a ton of people by how well Loki flexes. "Oh that thing won't do much." Right after someone said that, Loki came in second among all the Cherokees that attempted the RTI. 4 Cherokees were bigger than Loki and one was mostly stock. The only thing that beat Loki was my buddy's pink jeep on 40s. Needless to say..... My dad and I ordered some Boostwerks Engineering johnny joint shackles and ACOS spacers today to compliment the RC shackle relocation brackets that are still waiting to go on. The rear of this Jeep doesn't flex much, so we're gunna try and get a little more out of it. Going up about 1-1.5" and pushing the front axle forward about 0.5-1" to make room for the 35" duratracs that are taking up space in the dining room....

He and his girl just got their Jeep back from having a hybrid cage put in it and we went wheeling that night.... Towards the end of the pics in this post, you'll see that it got high centered sideways at the top of a hill.... Everyone went into emergency recovery mode to keep it from rolling. Got two winches on it. One guy on the front and me on the back attached to the brand new HALO

Anywho.... PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm still learning how to use my Nikon d3200 and night pictures aren't my strong point yet. Sorry if a couple are blurry.

I tried to climb up that ledge and gave it hell, but unfortunately I just kept digging in. Loki is a little overgeared and under powered.... 35s and a supercharger should fix that

First tow with the new trailer and Loki. Was a favor for a friend. Plus i had an itch to tow something lol. Would've been nice to have had airbags so I could've leveled the rear, but it all handled perfectly so I can't complain about the sag. No tail wagging at all. None. Zip. Zero. Nada. Subaru's are darn heavy in the front. Couldn't put it back much further because it was getting close to the back edge of the trailer.

All in all, did very well for a modestly modified Jeep. Didn't really go above 45mph (max speed limit was 45. Ranged from 35-45mph speed limits for the entire 30 mile tow).

Pic makes it look more a$$ low than it actually was.

More towing. Making Loki and the trailer earn their keep.

Cargo is 1900lbs give or take. Trailer and Jeep did great. Did 65mph and 55mph easily with no drama at all (I obey all posted speed limits. Especially when towing).

Loki towing another thing. Came out of a 2000 xj. Supposedly has a cracked head. Can't complain since I got it all for free (engine, trans, and t case) and it was literally 10 mins away. All I need to do is throw one of my spare heads on it and go to the junkyard to get everything I need from a 97-99 to convert it from COP to distributor and get a donor harness to strip down to the bare essentials.

Glad to see youve been keeping this thread up to date, even if it's been with your dad's jeep. You two make me miss my 97 flame two door! I've got some questions about your supercharger I'll message you about. Hopefully your jeep is coming along just as nicely as your dad's!

And there will be big updates for my Jeep coming in the next few months. 37s, hybrid one tons, blah blah blah. Ya know, usual Jeep mods. Haha.

And hopefully my inbox isn't full. Lol

And what my dad said. I'll either be posting pics of the rebuild of his Jeep on this thread or I'll make a new thread just for it. Definitely a last minute jam for me to get this thing done in time for me to make the 4200ish mile round trip lol.
