I finally have a real camera, so please excuse the numerous pics of a boring engine crane... Lmao. When you get a new hammer, everything looks like a nail.. Or something like that
So..... Bought and assembled this in order to...

get this out of the bed of my dad's truck... Haha. Just gotta get a chain to hook it to the crane. 1999 4.0 long block with ~120k. The price was too good to pass up on an engine that was only an hour and a bit away and was already out of the Jeep and hanging in the air ready to be dropped into the bed of a truck.
The plan is to squirrel it away and start gathering parts for it. Ideal build plan is... Full rebuild (new bearings, seals, etc.) , Jones cam with 1.7 ratio roller rockers (would hope for about .500" lift), forged pistons, bore .060 over, Hesco aluminum head with big valves and ported, ARP rod studs, ARP head studs, MLS head gasket. Basically applying all the knowledge that my dad and I have gained through research and first hand experience with my supercharged XJ and not trying to go overboard with the engine build so that the stock ECU can still make it run. And then try to adapt/modify another Sprintex intake manifold to accept the S5-335 (mine is a S5-210) and run 15-20psi+. As my Jeep sits, it makes about 350hp at the crank (still gotta dyno...). With that new setup, it would make 500+hp at the crank easy. Lmao.
Gunna find the next weak link (transmission) pretty soon at that kind of power output..

But this build/swap won't happen for a while.

It wasn't THAT bad... Just lots of JKs... The store was nice to walk through and actually see the products in person that I usually drool over online
I'm still annoyed that I didn't register for the show soon enough, because when I went to register the spots were already sold out.
There was one Prodigy turbo'd JK and maybe one or two RIPP supercharged ones, but no supercharged Cherokees...
So, I wasn't that impressed... "Oh look. Another lifted JK on 35-37" tires..."
I'm more impressed with a Cherokee on 35-37" tires that still looks clean. Even more impressed if it's boosted... Lol.

Got a 45w solar panel kit from Harbor Freight. Ended up paying $173 which includes the $30 one year extended warranty and tax. So about $3.85/watt. That's actually not a bad buy imho. Lol. Now all I need to do is get a deep cycle marine battery for it so I can run an inverter and whatever else. The plan is to mount it to the roof and make it removable/semi-perminant. All I'm going to do to this kit mod wise is paint the PVC frame black and take the panels apart and run a bead of silicone around the seams to make them more waterproof.

Panels are just set on top in these pics. There is actually enough room to mount a total of six panels up there... O.O
