Project: Keepin' it clean
nice build so far, i appreciate your attention to detail...
as far as the meth to cool your engine, that is a trick foe diesel engines, or cars pushing a lot of boost... if your not runniung a high psi, try swapping your pullies, it worked for my old grand prix gtp, and i was over 300whp...

The S/C kit has no intercooler. Instead we use chemical/liquid intercooling. By using the 7th injector and injecting fuel into the supercharger, the fuel absorbs heat and lowers the discharge intake temps 50-60 degrees. But you can only inject so much fuel, only the amount needed to get the proper air/fuel ratios. So additional liquid, in our case, water/methanol- or windshield washer fluid, cools the charge temp down another 40-50 degrees. Cooler charge intake temp, No detonation, can run more timing, more power. In addition, for every 10 degrees temperature change, there is a change in HP by 1%. In our case, a 100 degree temperature decrease due to the 'liquid' intercooling is worth 10% more power at the same boost. Heat is the enemy. Meth/water injection is not just for diesels or high boost applications. Ask what is the intake charge air temp?
Okay. I've been wanting to swap my stock seats out to aftermarket ones for a while now... I've looked at Rugged Ridge, Corbeau, and Mastercraft and only the Mastercraft ones seem to hold up to abuse. Too bad everything priced out to about $1100...
So... Time to look for a cheaper solution. I remembered sitting in my friend's Honda Civic Si a while ago and that the seats were very comfortable and supportive (side bolsters). Honda seats in a Jeep? Why not!?!
Ended up paying $400 for both front seats, the back seats, and the center console. After I get the front seats swapped in, I'm going to have the back seat and center console lid recovered with the material from the Civic.
For the record, I LOVE SUEDE!!!!!!!!!
They look like they're sitting high in the first few pics because they are set on a couple 2x4s. They should sit about 1 1/4" lower when I make my adapter.

Theses 3/8" steel plates are heavy. No way will they bend or flex. I agree with a previous post- 'The Jeep will bend around these mounting brackets'.
Got them drilled and the corners cut off. Smoothed off the edges and corners. Need to get some more bolts and then trial install. Still have to see how best to mount the new seat belt harnesses. Drill a few more holes. Paint. And then the final install.

I had to look at the pictures again. Yeah it does look like all the running around and work will be worth it.

UPDATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My dad and I got the Civic Si seats mounted. Just gotta take them out later to drill holes for the race harnesses..
As much as I hate Hondas, they make great seats! Lol. These are extremely comfortable and supportive and I think they are acutually a little bit softer than the OEM XJ seats.
Had to remove more of the OEM Honda slider to get the driver's seat to sit lower. Turns out that the last piece of the slider was held on with 8 rivets. PER SLIDER!!! So, 16 rivets total... Those were fun to drill out.
Now I just have to do the same thing to the passenger seat eventually...
And my dad recovered the center console lid. Came out great!!

Finally washed all the mud off my Jeep. Looks like a mallcrawler now..
(yes. my dad sprayed the tires with WD40...)

Squirrel went for a ride in the Jeep. Feisty little fella.

And in other news, my birthday is on Tuesday.
My rents and I decided to do birthday stuff this weekend since I'll be at college on Tues..
My mom made a 'dirt' cake.
AND I GOT A GOPRO HD HERO 2!!!!!!!!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!!!!!

I thought about it and toyed with the idea of swapping to dark grey or all black interior, but the light grey panels don't bother me enough to go through the hassle. Lol.

I almost feel sorry for the next person who flashes me. Almost.
*edit* ohhhhhhhh. I see what you mean.
They're either really good Chinese clones of Rigid Industries light bars, or production cast offs.. Bought 'em from China. They seem surprisingly well build and have a very un-china-like high quality feel and have a nice weight to them.
I'll see if I can steal some time tomorrow to mess with them and the Jeep.

Pics of them lit up. The Jump box was having a hard time providing enough juice to power these things.. The 20" bar visibly dimmed when I clipped in the 11" bar, so they were obviously being driven by much less voltage than spec.. Can't wait to get them on the Jeep and feed them a proper power supply
Oh.. These pictures were taken with the kitchen lights on.

Working with it might be...interesting.
