Moved to colorado last october for weather and offroading among other things.
had an 89 wrangler for a bit and did quite a few mods/upgrades
got a good deal on this 90 cherokee so i decided to start a new project.
i have to give props to ren for his write-up
tons of useful info
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f58/ho...-your-xj-2365/
so i give you "the Honey Bader" (he just doesn't give a crap)
will be rhino lined on the underbody and from the trim line down
then satin black all over
with a gloss white hood and roof
i have some vids from my adventures in colorado and one from back in wisconsin when i had my square eye, carb'd 89 wrangler
on youtube search for "inkandiphones"
so thats where i am now
stock rear bumper is cut up and about to be rewelded into a stronger, smaller version with tow hooks
same for the front bumper
also will be chopping the front fenders to match the rear and replacing stock headlights/blinkers with oval fog lights and led blinkers
maybe i just have ADHD lolol
UPDATE 2/13
Grinding and welding and capped the tail light rails
Update 2/28
Added cb and 102" whip
Pics of the whip and mount tomoro

Wow man.... that's a pretty clean chop... haven't seen one like that before, I like it a lot. Anxious to see how the rest turns out!
what truck did you pull the rear wall off of?

Only two in the JY and both had solid rear windows and both were busted.
Also a good point I read somewhere,
"how hard would it be to replace the rear windows on a comanche vs say a Nissan hardbody or a Dakota?" (they made alot more of each)
So I looked for nissans but only one had slide rear window and the PO had bashed the window behind the driver with his head.
Long story, well, long, I picked a 97 Dakota
Unfortunately I measured the top but not the bottom of the window and had to notch it a bit to fit.
Turned out ok I think.
Front will get cut this week if I can find foglights I want to use for headlites.

My two guys that came with to help get the rear window were like, "dude, all these rangers have sliding windows and are the right size!"
And I just kept yelling across the JY, "NO F***ING FORDS!!!"
Lol
I hate fords.

Thought about the teeth but thats a little too "cliche" for me
Going to cut the front fenders and do foglites for headlites
Led turns
Angle the front and rear bumpers
Rear is done just gotta mount it
Roof rack
Tool boxes and roll bars in the back
Then paint
Maybe a small winch and hoop bumper

I see the point in a winch
I do
I also believe in proper spotting and smart driving even when being stupid
Other than parking on a tree stump with all 4 wheels in the air, I have yet to need a winch.
I will however (now that im in mountain country) buy a cheap one that I have all intention to only use once before it breaks
Like the 6-8000 pound ones from harbor freight for $2-300
If it gets me out one time and never works again, thats fine
I will not ever spend more on a "pro" winch that WILL burn out eventually too.
(every winch I have ever seen would either not reel out/in or would burn up halfway thru a pull.
So why spend a fortune
I look at em like a fire extinguisher. Use once to save ur butt. Then Replace.

hey man, I'm with you on not spending a fortune on a winch... but if you're alredy going to spend 2-300 on a winch, you could get the smittybilt xrd8 (i think that's the one)... it's an 8k pounder and it costs 300 bucks.... and I think if it ever burns up, you can get parts to rebuild it... vs. replacing the whole things
