Want my old spare stock 5 spoke steel wheel? Has a 235/75 tire from 1998 mounted on it!
15x7 and 5.25"BS I believe.

Jeeze! you really jumped in with all the work you did, especially with having no mechanical history and being a newb. I'm that same boat, but I'm not as far along on the build as you. Plus, mine's got a bit of rust. Everywhere.

Couldn't have done it without this forum.

Dude.... your build thread is A-MAZING! Thank you for all the pictures and links, especially on the ZJ disc brake conversion. I will be referencing this thread over and over for all my future mods.

Absolutely rock solid build man! I've got a black 2001 Sport and I'm looking to go a real similar route to you. I've got the RE 3.5 SF kit, Bilstein 5100s and RK arms which I think ends up with around 4" or so of actual lift.

I know yours isn't a DD but how is it turning those 32's? I'm going 32's for now until I can find an axle for the rear that is worth regearing/building (D35 currently) then I may make the hop to 33s. I do tons of highway driving/gravel dirt road for work and don't forsee any hardcore wheeling in the immediate future.

Thx dude.
Good thing it was a spare axle and i have all the time in the world, thus the tons of pics.
Oh, don't forget the proportional valve mod (spring).....great difference in braking power.

Appreciate the kind words bro.
IMHO, the D35 should do just fine if you don't see yourself doing anything hardcore.
My 32's do just fine in city driving but a little sluggish on freeway, especially going uphill.
All bets all off once you go 33 and above.

Btw, i think is a good choice going with your RE and Bilstein lift setup....should be sitting at least at 4.5" height.

Would it be easier for me to just grab the whole prop. valve from a ZJ and route the XJ's brake lines to it?

Can't be sure (assuming yours is a 88), but here is a great info on brake upgrade for early jeep.

Default D30 Axle Shaft Replacement

Replaced my axle u joints today.

Parts
Precision/Moog U joints (#PUJ 371 non greasable)

Tools Needed
36 mm axle nut socket (loaner tool from AZ)

Here are some write-ups and video that i followed
http://www.myjeepxj.com/index.php?pa...nt-replacement
http://4x4icon.com/offroad/u-joints/index.htm
http://www.stu-offroad.com/axle/d30/axle-1.htm
http://www.delta4x4club.com/TECH/UNIVERSAL/UJOINTS.php

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxluD...ature=youtu.be

There are a few ways to remove the u joints, but i find that using a hammer/socket way works better for me.
Here is me putting the rented 36mm socket to work.

Note:
a)No need to remove the axle nut if you want to remove the axle shaft and wheel bearing hub as one assembly. I did i because i wanted to check the condition of the hub and also i helps with r/r of the u joints.
b)Using a deep socket or extension would help if you have a seized hub (see pic below copied from MyJeepXJ)
c)Make sure brake backing plate are installed in the right direction.

Yeah. They are BFG KM2 32x11.5R15.
A little noisy but surprising great on wet condition compared to my previous All-Terrain from Wally.
