Thanks, i kinda cheated though. Mine had all that done when i bought it. The dark tint looks cool but sucks on the trails, not to mention ill prob end up with a ticket because the cops are strict in my town. Its about to become more black too, ive got a set of brand new cragar soft 8s that are waiting on rubbers. Then ill be complete darkness on darkness!! Lol. As far as welding goes, i use a hobart handler 140. Its a 110 welder so i can plug it in anywhere. I picked it up at northern tool with a cart for roughly 500. Its by far the best tool/toy ive ever bought. As for use its very user friendly and easy to move and to get into tight places. Being skilled comes with practice and the main thing is lnowin your machine. I still have plenty to learn myself but id be more than happy to give ya some pointers. Im in the process of moving at the moment but when i get settled ill post up some pics of the odds and ends ive made or fixed with it so you can get an idea of how versitile it is. Thanks again for the kind words dude

There is no strap on the TC end, just 4 bolts (provided by adamsdriveshaft) that connect the DS and the output shaft.

Make sense?
I hear you bro....ticket $= 5x New Cragar Wheel
.

Only strap you need (reuse) is the DS/Axle end, shown in the pic. I reused my factory's.

Before and After pics

Thought i grease up the ujoints bearing caps, and with a little brake cleaner this is what i ended up with

My first thought was ujoints replacement, but after a little greasing, it turned out just fine.

CB mounts I told you about over the weekend. Finally found the box they are all in! These are CB antenna mounts for mirror brackets. Just swap the bolts to longer ones and you are good to go. They are sold individually at the truck stops.
Heavy duty mount.

Light duty flat mount

Light duty angled mount

Also, the spring mount I was referring to. I had the heavy duty mounts on my Yakima rack with KC 130W long range and high mount reverse lights mounted to them. I have 4 HD mounts. 2 LD flats and 2 LD angled. They sell them at the truck stop on Blue Diamond, Craig or at the speedway. The one on BD doesn't carry as much as the one at the speedway or Craig.
Was there something else I was going to take a picture of? I can't remember now haha

Just read this build from the beginning....WOW. You have some skills, great work man! So your stock leaf shackles are in good shape still? Sent you an offer in your for sale thread. Could buy new ones for a little more but trying to save $$. Keep up the good work

Credits goes to members of this forum (and some other "secret society" forum).....have never change a spark plug in my life before this

Shackles offer replied bro.
What would you have done differently with the lift knowing what you know now?
Thanks for paying it forward. I plan to as well.

Mine isn't a DD and more of a learning project with the intention of exploring the desert (if i ever get to do it
).With 4.5" lift and 32 tires in mind, RC has the cheapest complete kit on the market, perfect for first timer except the ride is pretty rough (compare to stock) especially the rear leaf springs being too short.
Here are some of my thoughts if i would do it all over again ...
Kit 1 (no research required)
a)RC 4.5" Xseries kit with 3" rear leaf pack with 1.5" shackles instead of the 4.5" leaf pack that came with the kit (Jason from RC should be able to help you out with that....i'm hoping).
Kit 2 (takes some time to piece together)
a)Used (since they don't have a tendency to sag) front coil springs (any brand), preferably 3" and up + coil springs spacer if needed
b)IRO track bar
c)Relocate front brake lines
d)Reused my factory control arms (since i'm using CAD brackets)
e)Bilstein Front Shocks
f)RC swaybar links (or JKS PN2001 which would cost a little more but MUCH better quality)
g)No Steering stabilizer (is a complete waste of $$$)
h)3" OME rear leaf springs with 1.5" shackles
i)Bilstein Rear Shocks
j)Extended rear brake line (check out Seriousoffroad)
NOTE: These are the parts i would strongly recommend to go with the above kits.
>Control Arm Drop Brackets
>SYE with Custom DS (could have use an XJ/ZJ front DS, but the cost and time replacing the u-joints does not justify it)
>6* shims
These suggestions and recommendation are based on my limited knowledge and experience for a 4.5" lift.

I would think it all depends on what's the rig is build for.
