Project: Half way there.... killing an xj and bring it back better then ever
Hellooooo everyone.
ive had my jeep & been on the forum for a while now, i though it might be time for a build thread.
Sooooo the madness started when i turned 16 and i started looking for a car.
I didnt really have much money..
My parents said they would help me by doubling as much money as i had saved up.
after a while of me flipping things to make money i had some saved up
i started looking & didnt really know what to look for until........... my good friend told me about jeep Cherokees.
i started by looking at grands & didnt really find one that was in my budget and i liked, so i kept looking.
then i came across this number.
well long story short i had enough money saved to get it... so i did.
it already has a good amount done to it and it saved me money rather then buying the parts and building it myself.
list of upgrades when i bought it.
RC 6.5 lift
2 in coil spaces in the front to even out bumper weight
street lock rims
surco rack
36in high lift
cobra cb & pa
custom a.r. 400 bumpers
miler marker 9k winch
Yukon 3.73 gearing
front axel has 4330 axel shafts
tom woods drive shafts
dyno max exhaust
Np231j chain upgrade
compcam installed??? (he said that but i dont thnk so)
There's a sad part to every story......a few weeks after i got it my friends invited me to go mudding with them at a local spot.
The day before it rained & rained & rained some more.
We get to the trail and its flooded with water.... everyone is going around most of the water so we follow them back to the mud hole.
we get back there and my friends are going to ride there bikes and atvs around soooo my other friend and i go exploring.
it was my first wheeling trip so i didnt know what to expect.
I see another jeep going threw the water and have fun so i went threw some holes. LOTS of fun until.............. we come up to this one hole that didnt look deep so i start going into it everythings going fine so i give it more gas...... well what do you think happens??
it drops down and my hood goes under water, the water starts powering in threw my doors and nice speakers ..... at this point the jeep just shuts off. we both climb out the window and stand on my roof. i had to wait for an F-150 that went by to pull me out.
well the problem now was there was water in my intake, in my engine block, in my oil, & my interior...... i knew not to start it because i would hydrolock
it..
.
.
.
.
so it sat and waited for AAA to save us.
$200 later its in my drive way again....... but that was just the beginning.
moreeeeeee soon

Ya at least u were smart enough not to crank it , when I was ur age I hydro locked my Suzuki sidekick twice following a jeep into a mud hole .... Cost me 800 bucks to flush everything out, that was over 10 yrs ago though and now I do all my own work
Great lookin rig though and hope all is well with ur jeep after ur adventure

Yeah this happened awhile ago, I'm just telling you guys the story! I'll have more up tonight.
Yes it was crazy it made me learn every thing I know about jeeps. If that didnt happen I dont think I would know as much as I do.
As far as my plans go.
I'm thinking (for now) re gearing. Locking up front and rear. Cowl snorkel. And a few little things here and there. It's my only vehicle so I'm not going to go crazy with it but we'll see (;

Hey man! Down here in South Florida: Ft. Lauderdale to be exact. I drive 11 miles on the highway to school and seen my share of FHP guys. Like the rig, but take my caution. I'd watch that tint if I were you down here in florida. ANyways, awesome build!

Wow! Our troopers and local police are hardasses. They won't pull you over for tint, but if they get you for speeding, they will be like,"Oh your tint looks awfully dark..." that type of stuff. I saw on the aftermarket light page that your 16. Same here; but hellll I wish I could buy
this stuff you have.
