She came with a few issues, just like any old XJ, 4wd issues, header panel, grille, headligts, bezels, all being held on by a miracle, sheet metal screws, and poor attemps at welding, rear hatch supports are busted and not holding, tires balder than Patrick Stewart, radio busted, no radio antenna, no spare, and other minor things,
I came offshore shortly after picking her up and only had time to slap a new radio and antenna in her, but since i came offshore, ive ordered a few things to get started,
-picked up 5 jeep Ravine rims from a guy i work with
-235/75R15 Toyo Open Country A/T II
-new lug nuts
-new struts for reat hatch
-new header panel, grill insert, bezels, headlights, headlight mounts and rings, adjusters
-master power window switch
-reciever hitch spare tire mount (ordered from CF member AoA)
So needless to say its killing me to get home on the 21st to start slapping all these new toys on,
Plans:
-Paint Ravine Rims Flat Black and leave center caps silver
-Remove old body moldings that are falling apart and faded,
-Paint jeep flat black
-replace chrome handles with black handles
-2" to 3.5" lift down the road
dont plan on taking it rock climbing or on massive trails that i will need a huge lift, just want it a lil higher to look better, and for small trails, thats about it,
will keep everyone updated as progress happens!

So this weekend i started some of the maintenence i needed to do to the jeep, changed air filter, and fuel filter, changed spark plugs, wires, rotor and cap, changed the engine oil and filter, and dropped the tranny pan and changed the filter and filled her back up, everything looked good with the tranny so im happy there, next just have to check out the gear boxes and transfer case, here are some of the exterior improvements i did this weekend
and here is another pic of the rear hitch tire carrier

Threw some new seat covers on just to give her a little cleaner look,

Next up, when weather allows, is sanding and painting side mirrors, taking off badges for paint, thinking about changing the location of the badges just to give her a different look, and when time and weather allows, it will be time to prep for painting the body, and rims, then ill start on interior improvements like window tint and a few other things

pics didnt post in last posting,
Painted and installed new header panel, grill and bezels, installed new headlights, side markers, and runninglights/turn signals, had to heat up bumper with a torch and straigten it out from a PO accident to9 get new header panel on, will take down bumper soon to straighten out and re paint, need to also take down the bracket under the bumper for the towing package and get rid of that crap,

swapped out chrome handles for black ones,

This weekend did a good bit of work,
pulled the bumper off to try and straighten it up a little bit, and get it ready for paint and also to pull the brackets off for the tow system installed in the front by the PO, thats my second horn on the rigt side under the lights it goes OOOOOOGA lol

this pic shows the damage on bumper, and that i removed the tow bracket

after i was done with the bumper i sanded the areas that were worst off, and just lightly buffed the areas that werent bad, tested the flat black color on the front quarter panel

scraped the windows to get a little over spray off, windexed them up, threw my first sticker on her, and a New Orleans Saints Magnet, then called it a day, sat back, and just looked at her and tipped a few more back,
