Project: "The Chief"
SURCOS are the cheapest I found out there. Just beware you will be drilling out the 1/8 inch rivets right after the warranty expires in 90 days and replacing them with 3/16. I did that to all four corners inside and out to make it solid, otherwise you live with the rack falling apart.

Today's projects:
-took off the radio bezel to try to solve my fog light issue. I was looking for signs that the toggle switch melted. Found nothing. While I was in there, I removed the antiquated hands free cell phone system holder.
-Poked around the fuse/relay box in the engine compartment to see if my fogs have a bad fuse. Nope. It's either a loose wire or burnt out. I need to get a voltmeter to check.
-Took a look for signs of a cracked cylinder head (I'm a paranoid '01 owner and just overheated a week and a half ago). Oil looks clean.
-Finally got around to putting my Rough Country decal on my back windshield. I think it looks sharp.

Yeah. At least I'm gainfully employed this time around, unlike 2 years ago when gas was $4.00/gal.
And I've never been a fan of diesel engines. I've never driven one, so I guess I have no room to judge, but you could always drop one in your XJ and see how it works if you got some extra money.

I wouldn't be saying that too soon, Its $4.00 where im at now, and its probably going to go up more too. I think its nice to still see real Cherokee Chiefs with the lettering below the door.
Heres mine, Not a Chief but a Laredo.

Its a the begining of the movie, Its a 2 door.

Oregon Inlet just south of Nags Head. The pictures are a few months old, just forgot to post them... I went right after that hurricane ran through, so the weather was great (beaches were a little thin, as you can see by the water running right up to where I was parked)
