Nice to see that someone else shares similar thoughts to me... Lol.
And I have a ton of interest in the drifting community and rally builds and that's where I got the idea of doing that to the cage and unibody for more rigidity. I try to go to as many drifting events at Englishtown as I can (i.e. Clubloose, Freedom Moves, etc). Before I even had a car (much less racejeep) I was ALWAYS checking out driftmechaniks.com (site seems to be messed up), andysapp.com (love his BMW), and willroegge.com (amazing videographer)

I'm glad to see you're on the same page too. Maybe you can teach the community about chassis reinforcement with your build. I think the two of us can agree there are A LOT of people just following the trends...
Props on the videos and build. I'm a fan.

Nah. Couldn't swap a rack and pinion into it because of the solid axle. If I were to convert it to the IFS off of something like a S13 or S14 240 and use aftermarket links..... Whoops. I'm dreaming again. Lmao
Right on man! All of those driftmechaniks are from Georgia. I used to catch up with them at the local drift events quite often back before the city of Atlanta pulled the plug on drift events. It's all but died in our region now... Most of that group has gone their separate ways or just gotten out of it. I know Andy still has his car and participates where he can but the good ol days are over...

And here's http://www.ebay.com/itm/DIY-Jeep-4-0-97-01-Cherokee-XJ-or-Wrangler-TJ-Eaton-M62-Supercharger-KIT-5-6-PSI-/331052461115?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d1443ac3b&vxp=mtr
It probably won't fit under a typical XJ cowl hood, but it might be close... Idk. Haven't seen it tried yet nor have I tried it myself. Lol

Looks good, nice and clean.
I was wondering if you thought about doing a wj knuckle swap, for the brakes, since it's 2wd wouldn't need to worry about as much.
Then i would run an upgraded "1 ton" steering kit UTK.
Just my thoughts, seems like go fast should stop fast also.

Thanks! This build is definitely... different... Lol. But I'm having fun with it.

I have the Rugged Ridge HD UTK steering kit on my other Cherokee and it is complete BEEF. The only thing is that IDK how it would work on a lowered XJ. Plus IDK if it would clear everything and not bind up... The stock linkage should be fine. If I bend that, then.... dayum. Lol.

Once you have the wj knuckles the brake options open up.

I was skeptical at first, but as I continued to read through the thread, it got better and better! Still not what I would do with a Jeep, but well done!
