Default Project Apocalypse

Picked up a 1999 Xj sport for $2,000
It had a starting problem which I dwindled down to the fuel pump. Which I picked up for $70.00 off amazon parts, only after I replaced the starter which ran me about $300.00 from O'rileys. Dropping the skid to get to the tank was a b***h I
broke a bolt head and a bracket to hold the skid on one side. Since I had the skid off I took a sledge to it and pounded out the dent it had. Took off all the bumper end caps, sanded and gave a quick rattle job to the stock bumpers. Also I didn't want to trust the previous owner about the fluids so I just gave her a tune up changed the front and rear diff fluid, radiator flush, oil change, spark plugs, wires and all that other BS. Got bored took off my wheels and painted them too until I can get some good wheels and tires. Bought a Rubicon express 3.5in superflex lift but 4wheelparts f**led some stuff up so 3weeks wait time turned into 6weeks. Also got tired of headliner fuzz falling all over me so I yanked that out... At the moment I'm at a standstill, but after the lift I wanna pick up a cold air, wheels and tires. But I think I'm going to rip my carpets out (hoping for the best) and beeline my floors but the ceiling is kinda bare without the headliner so I might bedline that as well.

Jeep- $2000
Tune up - $450
Starter- $300
Fuel pump- $70
Lift- $485
Shocks- $ can't remember (Rancho 5k's)
Random paint- $30.00

Running total -- $3335 not to mention the shocks

This is the Jeep in the beginning

Ripped the carpet and I couldnt beleive how much sand and junk was under it all. I must have found about 10 pens Under the carpet. Also you can see the A/C compressor, speakers and under the towel is a couple of rails with gutter mounts on the end of them.

I ran into some problems both of the bolts that held the stock shoclks to the frame on both sides sheered off at the head so I ended up drilling this out which took HOURS.... I wanted to shoot somebody after that. Then I had to grind down the nipple like things in the middle on the bottom of the leaf packs also the holes they fit into on the mounting points in order to get them seated flush.

Ended up only finishing the rear end so Im driving around this week looking like a wanna be muscle car haha. But I have a four day weekend coming up and I plan to finish the front end. Im thinking about getting a 1 inch spacer to drop my T-case and also an SYE not sure if I will do both though. Any opinions on that ?

So this morning I noticed one of my rear shocks had broke... I knew it was going to happen because the damn thing was to short anyways, but I dont like dealing with 4WP so I said screw it during the install. I had Rancho 5000's all around, but now I have ProComp es9000's in the rear. SUCH a smoother ride haha. Ended up doing the repair in the parking lot at 4wp.. So I didnt get any picture

I have more pictures of progress, but I haven't uploaded them to photobucket yet. I'll get on that tomorrow and finish posting. But I have finished lining the jeep in FatMat, replaced my headliner which is already falling down FML, put in my fire extinguisher, got a "cage type thing" for my dogs in the back but it looks cool ha! But like I said I'll post more later on, just cant build it to high because when I move back to Virginia Im taking it with me. Im stationed in Hawaii via the army at the moment.
