Poor Boy Racing: Everyman Challenge XJ Build
Sorry for the lack of updates lately everyone...weve been so busy with....everything else.
Last I posted, we thought we were gonna have a roller. Unfortunately, when we were putting the front axle together, it turned out that the brake calipers were hitting on the knuckles (that's what happens when you are piecing together multiple axles I guess). We've been doing some hunting, and found new knuckles that will fit and hold the brake calipers. So this weekend, it should actually be a true roller. Once it's on it's own weight, we will grab some measurements to send off to Tom Woods for some drive shafts.
Then, yesterday we met up with a guy from Pirate and picked up a new 22 gallon Jaz fuel cell for an awesome price! One more thing to knock off the list...
So I think the plan for October will be to finish up the minor details with suspension and get the cage built. That's what we are shooting for as of now at least.

I am sorry for such a long delay in pictures and updates. I have had pretty limited access lately, so the build thread is lacking. Here are a few recent pictures. Hopefully I can get a few more this weekend to share with you all.
Here is a pic of one of our team members picking up tires from our newest sponsor, T&T Alignment. We will be running the Falken Wildpeak ATs on this rig with a custom groove pattern.

Here is another picture of our latest order of parts. This includes a set of weld on beadlocks, front frame stiffeners, front diff cover, and a few other things.

Well...I guess you can say this is probably the worst build thread ever lol. My access to the website and a computer has been pretty limited so I wasnt able to update like I was hoping. It is lacking a lot of the "build." In order to make up for it, I can at least provide you guys with some of the close-to-finished pics. We took the Poor Boy rig out yesterday for a shakedown...and it seemed to do very well in the rocks. We can only hope it holds together at Hammers. Let us know what you think and let the questions flow in! Again, I am sorry this thread died off!!

By hammers do you mean the king of the hammers competition? If so I could see that thing screaming across the desert section and it looks lean enough to navigate the rocks. Props on the race rig I'm jealous.
Once we get back and settled at home, I plan on putting together a summary of our journey as well as provide some pics of Hammer town, the rig, and other cool stuff. We will also have at least 3 go pros in the rig, so there should be some decent footage to enjoy as well.
Thanks Derran! We will definitely be in touch. Thanks again to you, Jeff and the rest of the folks at Rockridge. Without your help and support, it wouldn't have been possible.
