XJ d44's are pricey unless you find a good deal. A better option is to find a 29 spline 8.25. Look for one out of a 4 banger and get the front too and have 4.10's.

With it so much higher, the hitch was much easier to take off. So I took it off to see if I couldn't clean it up and paint. look what I found haha

New hitch ordered and back ordered, has been for five weeks so who knows when that'll show up haha
hah my last xj had this bad.... of course found out that it was like that after i got back from a huge wheeling trip that i had pulled a cargo trailer with thru creeks and all sorts of other stuff

pull your diff cover off and look inside it should be in a code of numbers inside the case

Email Jeep. Took them like 4 hours to get back to me with a full spec sheet. I now know I have and 8.25 rear axle and blech 3.07 gears.
