Are those stock rotors?

mountaineerjeff 03-13-2014 12:03 PM

No. They are the sport Trac setup.

Thanks.

I always liked those Cobra calipers. Can you weigh one with the pads on a bathroom scale?

Did you have to grind the outer edge of the hub flange to fit into the ST disc/hat all the way?

How are you going to attach the calipers to the late XJ knuckles?

The hubs were ground down. It's close, only takes a little bit to make em fit. The last pic shows everything mounted and ready to throw on the axle.

I'm not worried about the street 18s but I wanted to double check the clearance on my front drag wheels. They fit perfectly. Got a new battery and pulled racejeep in the garage to try and get everything ready.

Finally started tearing it apart. I actually got the lower shock bolts without breaking, but the upper nut is going to have to be cut off.

PBRXJ 03-22-2014 12:48 AM

Plan on drilling the top 4 in the back LoL.

mountaineerjeff 03-22-2014 02:28 AM

Yea, they are soaking in pb. So we will see.

Finally got my matching rear wheels and tires ordered. So I can't wait for those to get here. For a ton of loose ends before the my first race.

Front brakes.
SS brake lines.
Wheels and tires
New steering
Shocks

Also planning
Valve cover
Roller rockers
Catch can
Fresh o2s

Then ontop of all the performance related stuff I got to fix some bodywork and finish some cosmetic side projects.

All that plus I need to get my summer DD up to par, and help my buddy build and swap a trans....it's gonna be a busy month.

Got the upper bolt cut off, and to my surprise the shocks were completely blown. They showed no intention on extending after being compressed. I'm pumped to experience the handling and launches with the new ones on.

If they were hydro shocks they would not spring back even if new.

Don't forget your Line Lock for your front brakes!

mountaineerjeff 03-25-2014 07:12 AM
