Busted out the wrenches for the first time on the YJ.

Both side markers were stripped out when I bought the Jeep. I lost one in a creek on Monday, and the second screw fell out of the other one last night on the highway. Luckily, I had already ordered replacements for $12 total on Amazon.

Because the holes were jacked, I decided to use machine screws and nuts instead of larger sheet metal screws. While I was at it, I also replaced the screw that was ripped out when the PO did the front end damage. I used the same #8 screw and a washer and torqued it down to bring the fender flare back up against the fender.

I know some of you don't like the flares, but at least now it doesn't look broken

I like the flares, only thing that could look better IMO are flat flares. What's the next planned project on it?

The front flare looks fine. The rear flare looks like crap cause it doesn't look like it fits at all.

It'll get flat flares or Metalcloak arched flares, but I don't know when. It's gonna be maintenance and minor stuff for a while cause I'll be making payments on the loan for 18 months.

Rear fenders will probably be trimmed eventually. I don't wanna start cutting til I have a plan.

But you can't carry anything in a YJ!!!

3 tires, trailer ramps, and two 12" subs

No, no, no. That's not how that is supposed to work. You start cutting and make the plan up as you go.

Then you end up with less. Which, we all know, less is more.

Yanked my Kenwood from the MJ. Luckily, the PO used a Metra harness instead of splicing into the YJ's harness. This really simplified things since it uses the same harness as the MJ. Everything went smooth as silk:

ROCK a YJ!!!! I love that jeep dude.. if I didn't have my XJ and a family of 5 - it'd be a YJ or a CJ for me.... love the simplicity of the leaf fronts.

BTW, that crap with the Maryland club is bull****!!! Come down to Ocala... OJC would be glad to have you!

Thanks, man. These MD guys sure are jerks

I removed my cyclops fog light and changed my oil and spark plugs today.
I did a hot change and put in 6 quarts, but I ended up with only 3.5-4 quarts in the bottle after I poured the old oil out of the drain pan. I think it was pretty low. Oh, and I replaced the Fram that was in there with a Purolator.
As for the spark plugs, my best was at .040 and three of them were at .055. It seems to accelerate and idle smoother now since I did these little bits of maintenance.

I might go back out to Seafoam it, but I had to get out of the sun for a bit. I knew coming inside was the right decision cause I walked in with my keys in one hand and trash in the other. I walked into the kitchen, threw my keys in the trash, and then stood there wondering why I had dirty shop towels in my hand. Oh well, it happens.

Whoa, this thread is still alive!

If you decide to seafoam it, call me so we can record it. Like the good old days.

Thinkin' I might do it tonight before I go and pick up a spare from Aaron's house. Shoot me a text if you care to Seafoam and go for a ride. I'm planning to grab a bite while I'm out. Maybe Subway.
