Not a typical 1991 cherokee
So you grasp the concept.
The pictures above are from the first day (Sunday May 11th) of owning this Cherokee.
This is a 1991 Jeep Cherokee with the 4.0L Straight 6 High Output with a transmission from a Toyota truck that I'm not entirely sure about, standard 231 T-Case, stock rims with 28' tires. This Cherokee has had a small bit of chopping with a roll cage installed supporting a 5 point harness over what appears to be a stock jeep seat. This Jeep was stripped down to the bare minimal in order to run in rough truck events at local fairs.
From that Sunday to now, I have ran this Jeep around open field circle tracks, climbed tons of hills, and creeped many more trails.
First problem with the Jeep was an over heating issue which it was spitting all the coolant out the coolant over-flow valve. With the help from ZombieResponseJeep we made a coolant bottle into and over flow bottle for the radiator.
- We replaced the thermostat with a 180 degree stat and burped out the air. (The stat that was in it was rusted to crap, and the seal was pretty much dirt. So we scrapped the crud away and all was good.)
-Jeep was still getting hot and after further inspection of the radiator there was no longer a question of why it was getting hot.
pulled the radiator out.
It was a single core copper or brass radiator... and it was just junk...
Brand new dual core aluminum radiator, stays cool with (2) Jeep electric radiator fans. It now stays at a steady 180 degrees nice and cool hopefully preserving the life of the mechanical functions a little longer.
This air filter was wedged down buy the intake manifold sucking in hot air from the engine bay, so nothing a grinder couldn't fix!
This picture you can see our "splash can" for the air filter, just a metal coffee can.
Installed our "custom" window
The top Plexiglas is so scratched up its almost like a tint layer/rain shield/air dam to suck air into the cab while moving forward.
Got the Jeep stuck, I guess I made that window just in time! (No, the big military truck didn't pull me out)
Have to be able to charge your phone when your out, or anything else you need.
Paid $800 for Jeep
Paid $102 for radiator
Paid $8 for 180 stat with seal
Paid $70 in coolant
Paid $50 for duct tape, Zip ties, spray paint, and ect..
Paid $30 for 12v plug, wires, fuses
$1060 in it so far, going to do a full tune up soon.
I will post everything that we work on with the tune up.

This is a "budget junker deal" we are trying to make it as comfortable of a chopped jeep as possible for Zombie Assault Vehicle purposes without breaking the bank at all.
Short term goals:
-Soon we will do a full tune up, clean it all up real nice.
-Going to find DF and PF doors with glass, and manual windows, and hopefully mirrors
-Planing on stretching a 8 x 10 ft camo tarp I snagged up for $10 at walmart over the back of it, going to get it nice and tight on the body and use it as cargo space.
Medium term goals:
-Fuel Cell (almost a short term goal)
-Going to get painted OD green (rattle cans of course)
-tail light/brake light, cab light, dash light
-lifted with whatever parts we may come across for at a deal that will fit the jeep with no major modification
-brush guard (already have the guard just need a torch and welder)
-tow points
Long Term:
-New exhaust ran up on the back side almost like a stack
-junker custom made snorkel
-bigger tires* -- Was a long term goal ended up short term by a deal
-small roof rack
-Many many more to come

Thanks, gents!
Been doing everything we can to get this jeep to a car wash but ran into a couple problems other then the fact it's not street legal for obvious reasons.
But other sorts of random problems like drivers front brake cylinder was seized, just took it off and clamped the pressure off, which ended up taking 3 hours becauses of dirt and mudd from us getting it stuck so I cleaned everything up.
Today I got a call from my bro on 2 tires, I went and looked at them and bought them right away. $40 each
Turrres.. Zombie response jeep donated 2 tires the same in size to fit on with these two tires. Taking the tires I got with it off was a adventure... 4 - 5 different tools trying to break lug nuts lol it took around 4 hours so first thing in the AM will be to get the new tires on old rims and fit them on the XJ

Just to let you know, it's better to have the 195 Tsat in, you want your engine in closed loop(which is around 195-200 which keeps the engine from dumping fuel in a attempt to warm up. Just good for thought.

Demonoid369 you are entirely correct, it would dump more fuel in thinking it would warm up. I wasn't really using my grape at the time and figured I'd just try to get it to stay cooler then 195 in order to solve the problem.

No worries, I just know with a Rich fuel mix, it can cause a couple of issues like a shorter cat life and fuel in the oil mix. And the more obvious higher gas consumption lol
