Newbie jeep4lf's 97 xj code name "delorious jack"
So father just bought me a 97 xj I'm new to the whole jeep thing as well as doing wheeling on my own. So I decided to start a build forum so far I went to the local shop here in Bozeman and pretty much got convinced to go with the rough country series 2 3" lift kit with the rear shocks 609 without shipping so thinking around 650 or so total... Might try and Huss them down to give me free shipping, will know by Monday if I'm for sure going with that lift.
So list of upgrades I want
Lift
As said above rough country 3 inch series 2 with rear shocks
Exhaust
Going to probably just do my own with a glass pack and strait pipe
Wheels
Don't quite know yet but thinking about the cheapo ones on rough country website
Tires
No idea I just know I want 31's if you have suggestions please let me know but remember this is a very low budget build so may take some time
Bumper Both rear And front
Might make my own just have to find a welder here in bozo any ideas let me know
Lights
No idea yet let me know what you think I should do
Will have before pics up soon

Good looking little xj, that lift will be good for 31's. And for the tires I would look at treadwright.com, where I got my 32's for cheap. Good solid bumpers aren't cheap unless you yourself makes them. For the lights I would look at harbor freight lights, cheap and work good! But good luck with it all and welcome to jeeping, its the best there is!

So after a hour of putting the lights on, I figured out the wires were not long enough. So tomorrow I'll cut some new wires and have the lights up and working.
Also does anybody know of where a good place to set a switch for my lights... Haven't really found any good places yet.

I'm doing a "Fitch box" for my switches. Just search here and www.fitchva.com foebhis diagram and how to and all that. I love red xjs. Good luck on the build. Oh and if You find Grimmus on here he'll give you a forum discount of about 10%. He's rough country's forum Rep.
