Which model GC? iirc the ZJ's parts are the same as the XJs except the V8 which has a different (sturdier) tie rod. Im not sure if the track bar is also sturdier on the V8 model but it could be worth looking into. If your GC is a WJ, i might go as far as to assume that the V8 equipped ones have similar differences in their front ends but im not sure, youd have to ask them on the Grand threads.
tl;dnr you might be able to get new/better ones from a grand chero with the v8 and save some cash
Also, IIRC, if you are doing a small (to me, under 3") lift, you dont need and adjustable track bar.
about that snow.. i love snow but this summer it seems like it just blows around us and gives it to everyone else! im trying to drill out my wheel stud today and its not very fun with the cold and wind though. at least the ground is froze and its not a sea of mud!

Oh yes. I just a couple days ago made some sparks with that new welder... no shielding gas yet so I used the flux core... its... different. It ought to work however.
There is a 2 door down at the junk yard Im hoping to take some parts from.
Can anyone tell me if the frames between the 2, and 4 doors are the same? Im wondering about the possibility of liberating a good chunk of frame to replace the bad spots in mine. Mine isnt completely horrendous, it wont be hard to patch and reinforce... but I had to wonder.
If anyone happens to know a build floating around here dealing with replacing any frame sections Id love to look through it.
I pulled these tow hooks off a Grand cherokee... because whats a jeep without tow hooks?
ANd bacause I needed some excitement, I also mangled my finger!

i too am wanting tow hooks, but i didnt think the ZJ hook mount bracket would fit an XJ?
I'm looking into modding up a full set of ZJ skids to go on mine, but the front skid might be the tricky one.

i can't say for certain, but I'm pretty sure the zj brackets won't work on the xj. Im not sure if I'll use the hooks for sure, I might end up using a see of D-rings on the bumper I intend to build.

Anyone have a remedy for this? I have 2 now, but I think there will be more screw busted off in my header panel.
I think Im going to have some electrical gremlins to deal with, I disconnected some connectors in the wiring harness and it pulled some pins out of the connector. This will be fun.

Can anyone tell e if the "frame" was changed between 96 and 99? I found a potential parts jeep that if the frames are the same... instead of patching and plating the current one, I could cut out the bad and drop in good. Then plate over it.
