i put this in the build section cuz it will be soon

drove after work at noon. 186 miles, picked it up, spent $10 at autozone on a quart of atf, a bulb, and some washer solvent, and drove it home 186 miles, in a blizzard. i've never driven in a white out before, for a few miles i could only see about 10 ft, and at times i couldn't tell what direction i was going, we would rub the warning track on the shoulder, and i didn't know if i was on the left or the right side. the jeep drove great, even at 70. it had great heat, which my earlier xj's didn't.

all i got now is crappy cell phone pics.

1991 comanche 4.0 aw4 auto 4x4 d44 rear end

it will be treated to a spring over in the back, and 6.5" in front, and 32's i have laying around for now, and a spool of some sort out back.

i'm torn on the cap. kinda nice to keep mud off on the trail, i'm thinking of painting it black, along with the rocker panels. what ya guys think? or ditch the cap

I thought the same thing about a cap.... But how do you protect the fiberglass and glass from getting damaged????

My heat is the same way... but if you think about it... How much warmer would the XJ heat be if you didnt have to try and heat the back seat or cargo area????

oh definately, its all about the smaller cab, but it also has heat ducts at my feet, and at the center pointing at my legs, where xj just has feet when heater is selected.

i wouldn't worry about the fiberglass, people put fiberglass parts on jeeps all the time, and if a window breaks, put a plexi glass window in its place, and again when it breaks again. they're cheap. what do you think, keep the discussion coming about the cap.

I think you might be able to make it look pretty cool with the cap. It'd be different for sure. I say leave it.

it would look a lot like this one. usually i hate how they look, but i started thinking i could keep my gear in the bed, and not get covered in mud. then i saw this one

looks pretty clean! nice find.

if you dont mind damaging the cap, than leave it. but if you run tight trails with trees, it will get destroyed.

really? i like tight trails, i'm not a mud fan. i like the badlands, there's mud on the trails, but its not a mud bog. will it get damaged at the badlands?

thanks for bringing that up. no, stupid vacuum disco but it works great so i have spare shafts for both sides and i'll leave it for now. they're easy to fix when they do act up anyway.
