Alright, so here's my story:

I bought this 1997 HEEP back in August of 2010, I was still deployed when I found it on craigslist, fell in love with her and sent my father in place of me to snag it up. Picked it up for just under 1500, the guy wanted 2500, so at least we got him down in a decent range.

AS I BOUGHT HER:

The HEEP had been wrecked by the previous owner by rear-ending some other truck. I purchased it just as you see it, no front bumper, dents all over and errrthang.

I put this speaker in my overhead console with a toggle switch on it, for when i remove my doors, because i love to wheel with music, but it can also be toggled over to let my CB radio blare through it nice and loud.

here's my amp that I put in to push my new subwoofer:

Next, I left for a 6 month deployment this year and I have recently gotten back from it. Sent my HEEP to an illegal immigrant that did the body work and painted her up for me. I had the original Chrysler blue changed to a smoke Gray:

Got home from my deployment, and it was like Christmas for me and my HEEP, I knew we would be spending a lot of time together finally!

Parts:
Rusty's 6.5" leaf pack, 6.5" coils, hydros, sway bar discos, AA HD Slip Yoke Eliminator, Shackle Relocator kit, 37 tooth speedo gear, 4.56 gears and axle rebuild kits, (5) 15" black rock wheels, (5) 35X12.5R15 Pro Comp M/Ts, XJ front CV driveshaft, Flowmaster Super 44, Surco Rack, LSD for the 8.25, Aussie for the D30, Rusty's Over the Knuckle HD Conversion, 6 degree shims, and a firestik antenna.

Started ripping away at the lift, I had money to spend so I bought everything I needed first....just forgot to get better tools, so I swung buy Lowes and picked up a few cinder blocks to boost my jack and stands:

I also have 1.5" spacers up front, so total lift is equal to a nice 8"...however my rear is at 9-9.5" right now because the leafs haven't sagged yet, so it's highhhhh.

So, I just finished the slip yoke eliminator today, my what a pain in the rear that was yesterday. The reason i didn't finish until today is because I built the t-case all the way up last night and found out today that I forgot the magnet, luckily i hadn't filled it with atf-4 yet though, so I just had to add more rtv after prying it apart. That's why the RTV is such a nasty mess on there haha. My doors are completely removable, no pics there. I have alot more pics that we took, but they are on my buddy's camera and he lives in VA and I'm in NC.

I took her for her first real test drive today, got it up to 55 and no wobble at all, a slight shimmy, but i think it was the tires, i'm not use to that tread yet. I still have to re-gear and build my axles, and clean up the fender wells and paint the springs and shocks and axles, but I'm waiting til I get the chance to do it all correctly, all in all I have been home from deployment for 2 weeks now, and this is how far I have gotten!

I've ordered a new front bumper from aj's offroad armour, however if he doesn't get his crap together and hurry up, I'm going to cancel my order. It has been 2 months thus far, maybe even more.
