So today there was some shaking after startup, and my temp shot up to 210 and the check engine light came on. So my dad and I refilled coolant and reset the computer and now the light is off and the vibrations are gone(coolant wasnt gone, just low). Any ideas on the cause?

The belt got damp last night, which caused a LOUD *** SQUEAL when I started it this morning. Also, the engine is making a hissing noise after I turn the jeep off, any idead why?

hopefully you got this figured but I'd keep an eye on your coolant level and the color of your oil. Some late 99 to 2001 XJs are a little more prone to cracked heads which can result in coolant contaminating your oil. some symptoms are oil that looks like chocolate milk, an increased need to fill up your coolant reservoir, exhaust that doesn't clear up even after the engine has warmed up. You could also have a leak in your coolant system that is getting on your belt or evaporating on your engine. this would smell kind of sweet and wouldn't be a big problem at all. I don't mean to scare you and you may not have at problem at all but its part of owning any vehicle. Even if you had to replace the head or engine you still have a beautiful rare limited cherokee that I believe would be worth fixing.

It is definitely the leak in the coolant dripping onto the belt. I get that smell every single time I turn on the AC, and thanks! Even if it does turn out to be a cracked head/needs engine replacement, my uncle builds cars in his spare time(muscle cars and monster power rams/ramchargers) and he has a full service garage with all the tools/knowledge we would need to do the swap. It isn't a problem though if the AC isn't on, and i have my windows down 99% of the time anyway, so I've been incident free past that first couple of times. Oil and coolant are both at a good level, and correct colored, so I shoud be in the clear.

I got a black 2000 "project dark knight" thought it was coincidental we both went with a batman name haha. Very clean start tho, any plans beyond the exterior accessories?

Hahahah dude that's awesome! Well I will be redoing my speakers/sound system since I have 2 blown speakers, and I'm going to fix the coolant leak, then after that I'm getting a rear bumper, roof rack with a spare and hi lift jack mount, and after the next couple years I am going to do an 8.8 rear swap and up to an 8 inch long arm lift and 35's. I'm also going to start doing some cosmetic work like painting the brake drums, wheel wells, axles and diff covers black. Lastly, i'm puling off my rear diff cover and painting a simple old school bat symbol with a stencil I found. I just have to keep it slow because I'm on a minimum wage budget, but im hoping to get as much down now before I have any real bills as possible.
Oh and I'm getting a flowmaster and a catback, as well as adding a 2 inch spacer lift in the rear, and a 2.5 in the front(front is lower) and upping to 33's this year at some point.

Yeah I hear u on the budget...that's good tho very similar to mine. I'm gonna wear down my mtr's then upgrade to either 8 or 10 inch lift. I really wanna go 37's and Dana 60's tho. Perhaps even a stroker, that would be a dream.

My new 8,000 pound mile marker winch comes in on Wednesday, and I'm adding a new 2 inch spacer to the front because my front end sagged already before the bumper, but after the bumper its noticeably lower, and the winch will only add to that.

I used some Rubberized Rustoleum undercoating on my gas tank, fender flares, and axles/diff covers.

Here it is before(old tires too)
