So i decided to try and save some money by building my own conrtol arms and using the Factory bushings. so i cut out the stock bushings from the stock ones and used some sceduele 40 pipe and slid ot over the bushing. so i had somthing to weld to. but i couldent find the right size. so i had get a peice as close as i could find and cut and spread it and reweld in a new peice to make it bigger. and made a peice of 1 1/4 scedudle 4o pipe to connect the two bushings. and i kinda saddled the pipe like the re lcas for more flex. my dad welded them out because he wanted to make sure the welds were up to par. here are a few pictures. sorrt i didnt take more. got caught up in fabing and forgot...

so i installed my rear lift shackles and broke the nuts in the frame. so i had to cut the frame open ayway. so i figured i would fix my frame why i was at it. heres some pics. pretty straight forward.

Testing the flex with just the back lifted. couldent find anything else to flex on. not all the way flexed. w swaybars still connected.

if this is a street ride the 3.5" spring swap is the way to go also you have no need for 2 1/2" exhaust

Seriously, cole93maxxxj, your Jeep and all the work/cleaning you've done on it is an inspiration. Great Job! It makes me want to get out and really go to town on mine.

So i installed my new axle out of a 99 cherokee because my last one was on its last leg... and installen my coil spacer and i had major death wobble at 45 mph. turns out my caster was way off. -12 degrees. i made my lcas just a little too long.... so had to lengthen the stock ucas to correct the caster and after a front end alignmendt im good as new! since i brought the front up i put the rear shackle at its highest setting. and it still sags a little in the back. but its all good. now i need a new track bar... my axle is at leist 1 inch to the right...
Axle out

new one in

quick discos shouldnt have any clearence issues...

Hey Man I havent been on in a while. Looks like you have made some progress on your Jeep since though. I am just about to lift mine using s10 bastards in the rear and cougar v6 springs/strut cap in the front. How hard was the shackles to install besides the broken bolt part? Just wondering.
