I think I might make a curved license plate mount to put in my recever. Ohio requiers a front plate, and Parma cops love to stop people for nothing.

Quote: I used 3/16" steel and went a few inches longer than stock. A friend of mine does colision repair and he said to try to stick as close as possable with stock mounting and thicknesses. Because if I hit something it is better to bend the mount then the frame. Made sense to me. I realy don't plan on railroading this thing to much. If I change my minde a mount swap is no big deal.
your friend knows framed vehicles very well.

however these are unibody vehicles.

the mounts need to be extended back at least to the larger holes further down the frame...it would be a good idea to wrap them under the frame and tie them into your swaybar mount holes too.

as for your headlights. neat idea...can you explain what the benefit is?

Great welding, good work. To JeepCoMJ's question ^ . Painting eyelids on the headlights is to give it "attitude", and as such has no real benefit.

in other words it simply takes away from your maximum projection distance.

not a DOT approved idea.

suggestion for a minor concession to the idea....get the blackout covers which cover your turn signals, headlight, and corner markers.

Road Warrior'ish. Everyone has a style of their own. Nice job. Maybe fab up some head light sheilds that attach to the bezel mounts, to get that look. Jeep Co MJ is right you need to mount farther back & used multiple fasteners on uni-boddies.

The mount looks crooked in the second pick, but it is not.
