Took the jeep out onto Carolina Beach for the day. It's about a 2 hour drive one way, all highway, from my place. I ran 70-75mph all the way. I'll admit it was sketchy at times with no sway bars, no doors, no stabilizer, and a worn hiem joint in my drag link lol. The jeep did surprisingly well for how hard i beat on it, ran a lil hot on the way home. I'm thinking i need to put a new radiator in it. I did a complete flush of the coolant before i left.

BTW if you're wondering, 35's with 4.56's turns about 2500 at 70mph.

Hey guys it's been so long since i got on here last. I've been working a lot of hours lately and none being on the heep. So no physical updates but have a lot more money in my pockets to burn on the heep.

I am talking to a guy with a set of 36x13.5 bias ply iroks that wants to trade evenly for my 35" km2's. At ~4" of lift and a locked d30 it should be interesting. If anyone has a similar set-up i'd like to hear your input and see some pics!

But i've got a few plans for the heep for the rest of the year:
-build a full interior cage and possibly chop the rear
-suspension seats/harnesses
-possible motor swap

I'll admit I do find the time to beat on it and mall crawl here and there. Enjoy the few random pics.

a guy on here ran locked 30/8.25 with 4.88 on 37's and actually broke the rear ring gear first.

This things sick man. I got a buddy running a d30 that's got 4:88s and a locker on his 04 ranger he's ran 33s 35s and 37s. He didn't run the 37s for very long before he went back down to 35s tho. So id be easy on it lol.

Well here it is fellas...36x12.5 tsl's on 4.5" of lift. I purchased them with the mickey thompson wheels so i will run it like this although it is too flashy for my taste. This wheel and tire set-up is actually lighter than my steelies and 35" km2's were though.

Let's all place bets on what i break first and how long it takes! My bet is an 8.8 shaft since i don't expect to break anything in the 8.8 and it would be the most pain in the *** thing to fix on the trail lol.

Thans man, i really appreciate that. Right now i've got the sliders and longarm crossmember welded to the uniframe and i have braces in the front, it's stiffened it up a little bit. I will be visiting a local fab shop about possibly building me a roll cage next week. I don't have the time or a bender to do it myself.

The steering is made out of DOM, couldn't tell you the size. The draglink and tie rod have 3/4" hiem joints and the trac bar has 5/8" hiem joints. tie rod just sits on top of the knuckle with the drag link sitting on top of it at the knuckle. doesn't bind at all, but i have bent a few bolts. Letme know if you have any specific questions about it.

I'm leaving the d30 like it is, i may even take out the front locker. I will probably gusset the C's however. I already have 760x u-joints in it. No need to polish it when i'm already thinking about full widths lol. And yeah i'd rather snap a shaft than the ring gear, another reason not to run chromolies. However my 4.56 gear should be a bit stronger than a 4.88.

Thanks man. Haha that's why i didn't buy the 36s new, this is just a trial run for me. My current wheel and tire set-up is actually lighter than my 35s were so maybe it'll balance out for me lol. And i always give her hell man, i just let off when that front end starts jumping up and down lol.

Thanks again man.

Well I put the heep on jackstands today. Ordered me a brand new set of Super Swamper Q78's! A Q78 is a Tsl bias ply tire that measures 35.5"x11" r15. They also have a crazy 27/32 tread depth. Should be some loud *** axle breakers for sure

And I know I'm worser than a woman about making my mind up on tires haha. No offense to any of the girls on the site.

Brent, let's get another meet planned or something! I haven't been wheeling in a while and i really haven't had time to honestly. I feel bad that i haven't been able to meet up the past few times you've asked. But I'll be ready to rock n roll after monday.
