So after reading through a lot of the build threads on here i decided i should start my own! Im on a very limited budget so as of now it wont be the most epic build but ill be doing all of it on my own so itll be a learning experience every step of the way
I picked up this 2000 Cherokee Limited this past November for $2700 . . It wasn't in the best shape body wise, it had a decent amount of dings/dents and the clear coat on the hood was completely gone . . but mechanically it ran, drove and sounded great!
Here are the specs:
4.0L
158k Miles
Aw4
Np242
D30 front/ D35 rear
On the day i brought her home

Heated leather seats, and a cheap cobra cb courtesy of my dad

About a month after owning it i found a sweet deal on some 31's and decided to fit them on the stock suspension

They rode fine on the pavement but offroad was another story, so i decided to put my stock tires back on and wait for a lift

Being unemployed over the winter i didn't have much $ to spend on the xj, so i went with some free mods and decided to remove the side molding

It looked soooo much sexier without them!

Then on my birthday my parents decided to get me a cheap 2" BB from rough country! And about a week later i got started on installing it

The front end disassembled

The rear after i got one side done, while i was back there i also took out the rear sway bar

The front was a PITA because i did it without a spring compressor, but overall it went fairly smooth, just wished it was a little warmer out! nothing like turning wrenches in 20 degree weather haha
And here it is all finished!

Decided to trim my fenders today! i think they came out alright, im gonna sand down the paint and hit it with some bedliner tomorrow!!
Back before

Front before

Decided to start with the back first, cut off the lip around the bottom and then marked up the pinch welds with a sharpie and began cutting!

One side finished!

Big difference with the tire on and sitting on level ground

And the front all done!

Took me about an hour and a half total to cut fold, trim and clean up
