Default My $1200 "toy"

Well I have had my 97 XJ for just over one year and just recently found this forum and well after days of reading and taking in ideas decided to start a build thread. Its going to be kinda slow as with two kids money is sometimes hard to come by but little by little will get her finished.

This is how I found her, got her for $1200.

Got a new door and fender, and took off the running boards as they were completly rusted out underneath.

Here is her good side.

Future plans include, fresh paint, 3" RC lift with full leafs(a must for my sagging rear), 703 injector swap, gauge cluster, tint, tires, and anything else the "boss"(wife) will let me spend money on!!!!! Will post pictures as I get things going. Any imput, suggestions, comments are welcome.

The po nephew went off the road and hit one of those concrete poles kind of like what is in front of target. Until I got the door on when it rained my passenger side floor was a lake lol.

Tomorrow I am going to install a new stereo so that I can have my Sirius in there along with some new speakers in the doors since my replacement door didn't have one and the one from my orginal door finally died figured it would have with all the water it was exposed to from the little scratch lol.

So today I decided to start taking out my interior to clean it and hopefully improve the looks and smell of my interior.

Started with the back seat also pulled out all the wires to re route under carpet when i put it back together

then took out the passenger seat all went well until I snapped the head off the one bolt oh well figure will soak it for a few more days and hopefully be able to turn it out from underneath

now I got the upholstry off of the back seat just fine and when i went to take it off of the front seat i ran into this...

now looking at the bottom picture it is the top of the seat i could trim the material and slide it off of either side of the wire, and then the top two pictures i could cut that small ring and slide it off and to put back on slide on and put a new ring on.

if anyone has take these off and has a better way or knows how to do please help me out

You have to cut the rings off, slide the rods out of the fabric, and then you're gonna have to make new rings and reinstall them.
