So much for keeping this updated, eh?
Where to begin... well since the last update, I've done quite a bit of work to ol Madge. 1st thing that comes to mind is that my heater core was leaking at some point, so I replaced that:
My slave cylinder also took a dump, so I replaced that. No pics there. I ended up getting the interior all bedlined in December, 2012:
I was kind of forced into a guardrail in my Jetta in October of 2012, and it was in the shop for about two months. That's why I had to wait so long on bedlining the interior of Madge. At any rate, I daily drove my Jeep for two months and she didn't give me any issues at all. Even when I had a 40 mile commute to Annapolis. Here's a picture of Madge on base at the Naval Academy after some snow:
And that pretty much brings it up to speed. I have been driving Madge to work again on this new job, which is only half the commute of the Naval Academy. The other day I explored a trail near my house twice in the same day. The first time was on my way home from work, and I just blasted through some mud:
After that, I went back to it on my way to the gym and ended up three feet deep in a muddy puddle on the passenger side, and my frame sitting on rocks on the driver side. Took me about 20 minutes to get out of it, but Madge finally exited the frigid water, seemingly unscathed:
I finally decided on what front bumper I want. T&T Customs Stinger bumper.

I nearly forgot! When attempting to install the Novak shift assembly for my np231, one of the studs on the transfer started spinning instead of the nut threading off. No amount of heat or penetrating oil fixed it. So I had to cut the nut off. Well, I'm still without a proper shifting device because it's been too cold to really work on. So, when I need 4 wheel drive, I simply climb under my Jeep with a 3/8" wrench and voila!

Well after wheeling through that mud, I got a ton of water in my Dana 30. Probably has something to do with my leaky axle seals...
Anyway, so last night I finally ordered my new axle seals and a Spartan locker! So, while it's all apart, I'm gonna add the front locker. Should have some fun in a week or two!

After a week of working 10 hour days, and putting in maybe an hour a night, I finally finished all the front end stuff. The locker is in and I went and tested it out tonight. It worked BEAUTIFULLY. I haven't fixed my transfer case shift linkage yet so I ended up getting stuck in mud in 2wd, crawling under with a wrench to shift into 4lo, and then plowing out of the mud like a raped ape. Once the locker engaged it was like I was on pavement. I took some pictures of the install and I'll be posting those up tomorrow with a little bit of an install overview.

In search of Madge
Hello. I’m realeated to the original owner of this Jeep. It actually belonged to my grandfather. I heard the Jeep has been sold a time or too since I last saw it. I was wondering if you are still the owner of it and if so what it’s condition is.

Wow, after 4 years this thread is revived and wouldn't it be so cool for you to find this Jeep and buy it back and show us the love you put back into it Especially since it was a family members of yours and the sentimental value it probably holds to you. Anyone know if this is around or if the owner on here is still around? I hope for you sake he comes back to answer you.

When I have time I'll makes full post with all the updates. To the guy whose grandfather owned it, I believe we actually texted each other about this jeep a few years back. Is your name Nick?

I'm still here! I lost the ability to login some years ago and never updated this thread. That jeep had a wild few years, and it's currently parked in my yard under a cover. I plan on fixing it one day. I'm preoccupied with working on my 5 ton right now so haven't had time to mess with it.
