Default looking to swap 231J to a 24J Transfer case

Good Evening. Tying to find out if it is possible to change a 231J transfer case with a 249J transfer case from a 95 Grand Cherokee. The transmission is a 42RE tranny with a spine count of 24. and if so what kind of problems could I run into?

The 249 is garbage, the viscous coupler commonly wears out, if you want a transfer case with a Full time option I would recommend an NP242 which is a direct swap, only difference is the plug for the 4x4 light.
