if you had a battery powered angle grinder, or battery powered sawzall, or even just a simple hack saw, i would just through the control arms, track bar, drag link, sway bar end links and brake lines. then it should just fall right out.
or you could do it the conventional way, and remove all the bolts holding those attached pieces, and it will do the trick, more time consuming and grunt work, and who knows, the bolts may or may not just come out. then you're into cutting anyways.

check with the junkyard grunt worker, they usually go around in a beat up old truck with tools and torches, and cut parts off for customers, maybe he will cut it loose for ya.

They're pretty simple front ends. You're looking for a differential but without the pumpkin and axleshafts lol. Other than that it's identical to any other XJ,ZJ,WJ,TJ ect front end. They're all over ebay and came on any 2WD Cherokee and Grand Cherokee from 86 till the end of the WJ's production run in 2004 so there's tons of them out there in Junkyards.

Great advise Caged, I'll contact my buddy to see what he needs and go from there. He's definitely going to mount the axle using leaf springs on his custom fabricated chassis for his '31 Chevy dually project.

That's very good to know Downs. Thanks to you and other members here, I now have enough resources to start my search within my company's salvage yards at LKQ.
