Well just my luck with truck's. Had the Dodge since Tuesday night, on Friday on my way into work with it I had destruction. The truck was a 5-speed with the 5.2 in it, pretty basic low end truck. Came to a stop light, pushed the clutch in, put it in neutral and let the clutch out. Light went green, went to put it in gear and it wouldn't go. Clutch went out... Had to have it towed back to the dealership while I got picked up and taken to work. Later on they called and said that the clutch is toast, needs a full rebuild. They told me either I could wait to have it fixed, or see about a different vehicle...again.

So I went down after work on Saturday. They had a red 2001 Ram Sport, quad cab, short bed, 4wd, same mileage, but it has all the bells and whistles minus leather and sunroof. Drives like it is brand new, inside is immaculate, exterior has a few door dings and faded paint on the top of the grille and bumper. Dealership wanted 10k for it, but due to the circumstances he matched the price ($6495) of the white 2000 dodge. So...I'm NOW in my 4th truck that I've taken home. Paperwork is signed showing it's purchased, pink slip in the back window, it's now MY truck. Before leaving they had me sign a typical As-Is warranty sheet stating if anything went wrong it's up to me, dealership is no longer liable for repairs. I put it up on a rack at work last night, everything is tight in the front end. The only few problems I found were the front shocks are leaking (factory shocks 14 years old 150k on them) and it looks like the waterpump seal has a pinhole size leak. Heater works, AC works, cruise works, I got it up to 80 on the highway and let go of the wheel, no wandering or anything. Extremely comfortable. I'm EXTREMELY happy with this truck. I'm also happy with the dealership for price matching it for me. At this point, they've now bent over backwards to put me in a truck that I love, compared to all of the other dealers I've found in the past that find what kind of money and payment you want, and then show you "the vehicles you can afford"

Plans are simple, BDS 3" leveling kit, BDS 2" rear blocks, going Rancho 5k shocks (gotta have that color match), Rancho steering stabilizer, Raceline Assault wheels and some 33's. Basic, simple, clean. Also, some clear black headlights and replacement fog lights due to the typical yellowing on the lens. Maybe black tool box, replace the Westin nerf bars with Nfabs, exhaust and a stereo. Not going extreme with it, it's a daily driver that will see light trail use.

Love ma WJ dude.... we had a 2000 w/ the 4.7L. Don't EVER let it overheat man. The valve seats are steel and the heads are aluminum.... dumbest design ever. The person we got it from told me it was an exhaust leak. I didn't know any better so I believed him... turns out, a couple of the valves had dropped a little. Would have been a $2500 head job. Found out right after I had pu tthe JK Moabs on it too....

Sure do miss her.... had the same interior as yours AND a sunroof.

Mine actually has the 4.0 in it. It's overheated a couple times on me, but still running strong.

Running strong. I already got a set of 285/75r17 Trail Grapplers on it with some 3rd gen 17" take off wheels, along with a garage full of goodies waiting for the weekend. BDS 3" kit with dual front shock brackets, and 6 Rancho 5k shocks all around along with a Rancho 5k steering stabilizer.

I also emailed my decal guy today, having all the factory decals redone in black. Also, playing with the idea of doing another wrap similar to the Jeep. Pinching my pennies and within the next month or so I'm going to order the NFAB Pre-runner bar, along with three 9" HID floods and two 9" HID spots. Next will be the NFAB Rear-runner and two 7" HID floods. After that will be the NFAB nerf bars to replace the Westin 3" that are on it now, then when these tires wear out I plan on doing some 17" Raceline Assaults and some red letter general 33's. The final thing I want is the Tiregate Pre-runner, which will actually probably come the same time as the wheels and tires, to which I'll have a matching full size spare to go on it.

At that point I'll call the truck "done" and I think it'll be a pretty sweet DD that's fairly off road capable if need to be.

Oh, if you have the 4.0 you're fine.... for some reason I was thinking yours was the 4.7
