Back from the ROK yet?

 

I forgot about this thread. Thank Airborne for reminding me.

I got back from the ROK back at the end of Sept, and found our way from FL back to Alaska in Oct. I have some minor changes for the Cherokee so I'll get back on here tonight and update this after our trip with the wife's jeep.

 

Welcome back. I actually enjoyed my year in the ROK. I now have a white 97 cherokee kind of like yours. It needs a lift and new wheels and tires...

 

I've been slacking on the build here. So update time:

Finally re-geared the front end back in Feb.

Picked up this little fella back in March:
"New" Ford 8.8 with 3.73s, limited slip, and 31-spline

Tubes welded, sanded, most prep work done before burning the brackets on.

The 8.8 was stuffed in back near the end of April.




I didn't use wheel spacers on the rear so I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to rub at all, no issues:


Then about a month ago i procured a set of TJ flares from a friend:

 

Last weekend I finally got around to building my steering setup:


1.5"x.25 wall DOM tubing, 3/4" rod ends with 5/8-grade 8 hardware

Now on to this weekends project:
New radiator, radiator cap, water pump, heater core, thermostat, and all new hoses.

Old Radiator, I sure was the cause of my cooling issue while crawling around. This was the fan side of the radiator, the other side is completely clean.

 

Its been a long time since some updates...

 

First update Aug. 24, 2014:

Steering and track bar build using 1.5" x .25" wall DOM tube and 3/4" x 3/4" rod ends all around

 

Second update Nov. 29, 2014:

Unibody Stiffeners
3/16" full length plate cut out buy a local Anchorage guy

With the axle out it was time to get the 3-link underway:

Crossmember made from 2"x4", .25" wall rectangle box using 3"x3", .375" angle. All link mounts are courtesy of Ruff Stuff Specialties holding on to 1.25" rod ends

 

On to running the arms. While trying to keep the belly relatively flat there are sacrifices that have to be made. One of which is the floor:
