Great job on the paint. I plan on getting mine sprayed to either OD or Forest Green.

I rattlecanned it. I was on a timeline doing it but if I do it again I'll use a gun. The Krylon Camo OD in a can sprays really funny. The sides turned out alright but the hood was a pain and came out a little splotchy.

What year ranger is that?
It looks good.

I like it, If you can do a little write up I have been throwing around the idea of re-painting as well

I really wouldn't be the best to do a write up on how to properly paint a vehicle. I just wanted something cheap, quick and dirty that I figured I'd have to repaint at some point.

I sanded the whole thing with my mouse sander and 220 grit pads to take the clear coat off the original paint. I then sprayed the whole thing with primer after masking off anything I didn't want to be painted. Then I hit it with the Krylon Camo OD.

When rattlecanning, make sure you have more than enough paint. If you want a nice smooth and non-splotchy surface you'll probably have to do a lot of sanding and recoating.

Alright, the hood has been cut and the hood vents are being installed. Looks like I'll only get the first one on before I have to go to work. Should have a picture in the next couple of days.

And time to revive an old build thread. Life gets busy ya know. Especially when you have a baby. But since we're getting into a groove now, it's time to spend more attention on the heep. In the works currently are OTK steering conversion and roof rack.

One of the newer additions is the overhead console with my trunking scanner and Kenwood 2 meter transceiver. It's build thread is here: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f58/cu...console-45770/

Thanks man, but I've got to give credit to the bird that crapped on the fender. I think it really accentuates the paint.

I can't believe I didn't see your question LAST YEAR... Sorry. The Ranger is a 1990, 2.3 with a 5 speed. It has a 6" lift, the fenders were on it when I bought it. And the 31s are gone now with 33s. Still considering a D30 SAS...
