Thanks I'm stoked!!! I got some issues to sort out though. My tie rod end on passenger side seems to be worn won't stay tight up flush against knuckle end. So probably gonna just order new ZJ tie rod V8 one and get rid of ****ty XJ stock one. Or 1 ton steering not sure.

Rear shocks I had won't mount properly because bushing holes on lower are not wide enough diameter to fit on axle mount bolt. So I'm gonna have to pick up some Procomp ones locally tomorrow $80 later.

Alignment still needs to come but that will be in a week or so. Hoping to fix tie rod before then.

Sway bar up front still have not tried to put back on with new coils so might try that and later order discos.

Ext brake lines still need to go on tomorrow I hope.

That's about it right now except relocation brackets for rear coming soon too.

Your going to be thrilled! Shop had a heck of time balancing mine but they got them.

So then my buddy hit me up said how's the 33s look? I said great he said okay well guess what I traded my 33s into shop for $650 and bought 35s for mine $500. Seemed pricey for 35s but I was like dude don't come to my house I don't want to see it your going to make me want to go 35s lol

I'm thinking about pulling the plug on a cav fab cross over steering setup with high clearance. I noticed a thread about this where some of you purchased it. Is it worth it? Cavfab is a member on here does anyone know if they offer military discount? $55 shipping to me seems a bit crazy but $259 for kit seems solid. I would like to hear what you all say about this kit.

On another note I bedliner my roof yesterday and today. Looks good will take photo later this week because it started to rain after it was dry and put tarp over to protect things. Its back outside in driveway and since I didn't sort out all my leaks yet I wanted to prevent water intrusion on my new floors.

https://www.dirtboundoffroad.com/hig...-mj-tj-zj.html

$259 + free shipping. 10off 10% code makes it $233 shipped.

I've heard Cav Fab is pretty good and is probably the most popular one. Dirtbound, Stinky Fab, Ares, it's all similar up to a point.

I need to bedline my roof and hood the clear coat is gone on both. No surface rust though. I've been looking at Raptor liner for their easy to spray system.

Builds coming along great

Thanks I appreciate some feedback. Cav fab wrote me back and looks like they do offer discount.

However; after doing so research last night and talking to a couple folks local consensus is heim joints are not great. They can be serviced but they are a pita. Having a 1 ton setup with TREs would be ideal.

I might just hold out and find me a ZJ V8 setup in JY.

I'll do some more thinking and figure this out its no rush just something I would like to upgrade in future.

So it has come the time to think about some shocks in the rear....I have some cheapos I got from autozone that ended up coming with the metal sleeve in the bottom that mounts to the axle mount. Becuase of that sleeve I can't use the shocks without of course pressing out he sleeve or drilling it out.

I was trying to avoid going top dollar on some shocks so that I can get a feel for the rig before investing. I don't mind spending $40 on another set but before doing so what has worked for you guys with just your local parts store shocks?

I need ones that will come without hardware pressed in so I can make them work. Sure I can find someone to press those sleeves out but have you guys had success with anything local that will work on a 4.5" lift for rear shocks only? My fronts are good I just need rear....

I may have some that could possibly work for ya. They might be stiff though.
Part number ZX2021 or ZX2022 I have both sets.
They are brand new in the box, pro comp pro runner. They fit a 05-15 F-250.
Check out the specs, if the rears would work, or you had a use for the fronts too, maybe we could work some kinda trade?

I know the eyelets are the same, just dont know what length is needed for your lift.

Stock YJ shocks are perfect for ~4" of lift. You could always make BPEs out of your rear sway bar to gain another inch.

I had a buddy with a press squeeze the metal sleeves out shocks that were from a YJ for the price of lunch. You could do it on a vise, or even do the socket trick as well if you don't feel like spending money on different ones. I would just go that route in my opinion until you invest in better shocks. I did it on my girlfriend's jeep until she could afford a new set.
