Oh yeah, it was a submarine, up here close to me in Washington. I remember how they went on saying that the Jolly Roger only gets flown when a ship gets sunk and that we must have sank something. In reality it was for something more like a mission successfully executed or something. The lefties all went ape **** in seattle.

Its our namesake so we are allowed to fly it. People have no sense if they are throwing a fit over that. Admiral Kidd went down with the Arizona when Pearl Harbor happened. His academy ring is still fused into the bridge on the Arizona. So because of his passing during war time we fly the Jolly Roger as the Pirates of the Pacific. So I can see where people think a ship sunk symbolizes flying it but we fly it because we can and because of that. When we got back from this past Deployment we flew our huge Jolly Roger and Battle Ensign on the Mast which is massive! America!!!!!
On another note I got a surprise that may come by end of today. Keeping you all in suspense because its not 100% sure yet. More to follow ......

The surprise did not happen....I stumbled across what I felt to be a clean 1996 XJ that may have needed transmission work. Guy was offering it at a really good price but I was offering him a trade off some cash and my RC truck. Turns out he was willing to do it. Woke up this morning every intention of going to get it and by the time I was able to get a trailer to bring it home the guy text me and said the dealer called him and the jeep needs a flywheel or flexplate. At this point I was too skeptical to bother so I told him I'll pass. He writes to me a little later and says he will take $300 and my RC truck again. Honestly the parts alone on his XJ were worth more than I can get it for. It has a 4.5" lift with almost brand new 33" tires. Though I think more street tires and less off road ones. If it were clean as he said it was I was just going to swap my parts over to his and be good and then part out what's left.
I didnt ever go see it I just know its sitting at a jeep dealer about 40 miles North of me. He told me I can come get it Saturday but I just don't think I will. Part of me wants to but a part of me is saying you dont need another project. At least the one I have I have already put some work into it and it runs and drives fine.
He was originally asking $1000 obo.
All good so back to my XJ I got a few things done to it today instead of bothering with another one

Cut out rust on passenger floor board. It really isn't as bad as it looks a few patch panels should be good so i think ill hold onto my brand new floor boards and just patch these.

I was thinking I might take the extra one I took off the donor car and use it to make a skid plate. Mount it back up to the frame either ahead of or behind the one actually holding up the trans and then weld or bolt in some sheet metal connecting it to the actual transmission crossmember. We'll see what I come up with.

This should be happening this weekend starting Friday .
Rough Country came through and I got brackets and hardware two days early.
There is one tool not in package I may need to have them send but I'll check directions. Not a huge deal I can still get long arms in this weekend and add it later.
On another note anyone here have experience with panel adhesive used to bond metal body pieces together instead of welds? Just curious as I'm ready for my floors to go in soon. I was thinking if I cleaned up entire old floor still in and put new one overlapping sealing it off very well and use panel adhesive I could save from metal warping with welding. Its not a structural piece of metal and also newer cars are built using that stuff rather than welds. Not saying its best but just came across it today and wondered how it will work out.
I know over lapping metal body pieces I will need to clean old surface, prime it, lay down seam sealer as well as panel adhesive if I used that.

I mean I suppose it'd be no worse than using rivets and I know I've done that with non structural pieces. My only concern would be making t strong enough since people will be standing on it essentially.
