Default Intro and start of build Pirate ZJ

Well first off let me introduce myself, My name is Jason and I am 29 years old. I am a paramedic in michigan and have a beautiful Wife and 2 kids Madison and Tyler, with another baby on the way. I have been into wheeling for about 4 years now starting in a 04 Rubicon on 33 swamper SSRs. I beat the living crap out of it and it ment its death in a mud hole at the mounds orv park. Now I have a 1996 ZJ 5.2l. So far I swapped in a 98 xj NV 242 it has a 3.5" front to rear swap JKS track bars. RC shocks, Rustys discos, IROR rear sway links and 31" baja claws. Ahh it also has the axle shafts from a 97 tj so it has the larger u joints. This setup is nice. But I'm ready to setup. Alright enough with my story.. Let's get my new build plans and the parts I have aqquired so far:

Oka parts have aquired/build plans

Got a 231 out of a 99 tj. Swapping out the 242 great case but don't need 4wheel fulltime anymore

Aquired a HP dana 44 out of a 79 F250, warn hubs and parts to convert from 8 lug to 5 lug
Aquired a Ford 9" out of a 77 F 150, 31 spline. Converting to disc brakes.
Aquired 2" coil spring spacers
Aquired Kevins offroad rear coil spring perch extentions
Aquired a custom crossmember for long arms

Over the last month I have been talking a lot with andy at ironman4x4fab he is a amazing guy and has my business any time. Say that u know those sick long arms he has on his build thread. I order a set and am and should have them soon. I cannot say enough about andy and ironman4x4 if his products. Are anything like this man they are going to be amazing. He actually calls me and gives me updates on my arms and just talks about wheeling with me now that's customer service.

The plan is taking my 3.5" front coils placing them in the rear, ordering some iror 7" front coils with the pucks should net me 8.5" of lift. I have trimmed my fenders as well. I am spooling the front end and lockriting the rear. My good friend who is really into fabbing is building me tube bumpers the there last on my list

For steering I'm going OTK with the redneck hydro assist kit. JCR is about a hour from me so ill probably have them come up with something. Kevins offroad steering box brace. And radiator support. And tnt customs dana 44 truss with all the mounting brackets. Ill also be switching over to a double sheer track bar. Probably gonna run 5:13s

Tire of choice 37x12.50r15 swamper ssrs

Est build finish july pics to come.

If anyones looking for a JKS track bar or 242 shoot me a pm we will work something out lol.

I trimmed it right at the bend taking the whole lip out. so about 2.5" I just followed the crease of the bend and took it all out as you can see it opens up the wells ALOT. remember to bang in the pinch seam while your in there

Well not much new to post. I am just waiting for my brown boxes to get here to start installing stuff lol. The name pirate ZJ came from my daughter and son. I bought 2 of the car flags that are skull and cross bones and in the summer I'm pulling off the RE stickers and doing skulls. My son and daughter think its the coolest thing ever. Plus I get a lot of looks lol.

did i hear right that you are spooling the front using a lockrite in the rear?

to me that sounds a little backwards, i would spool the rear and lockrite the front
