Interchange of 1998 & 2000 NP 231J transfercase

Interchange of 1998 & 2000 NP 231J transfercase
Can anyone tell me if the transfercase out of a 1998 Cherokee (6cyl./ automatic) will interchange with that out of a 2000 Wrangler Sport (6 cyl./ auto). The output shaft on my 2000 is bent causing a vibration above 30 mph. I have a chance to pick up this '98 cheap
