How bout a slooooow XJ build?!?!
Well, I guess I will try and do a build thread for my newest Heep... Haven't done one before so bare with me! If you want pictures of anything specific let me know...
I purchased this 96 Cherokee for $400 from a friend... It came with no axles shocks, links or rear driveshaft... It has Rusty's 5.5" leafs and custom shackles I believe around 7-8" total lift.. I do not know any info about the front springs.. I have a rear Sterling 10.25(from what I've been told by a few people) and a Dana 44 front.. Both 8 lug. Both axles were $80. So far i got the rear axle all bolted into place... I might possibly convert it from drum to disc brakes... We'll see. I started messing with my front axle and i guess I left it out side a lil too long... The pinion bearing is ceased.. Pulled out the ring gear and those bearings look ok. I plan on ordering a complete bearing kit for the axle and re assemble it.
For the front suspension I plan on using some rod ends/ joints. For the links I gonna go with 2"x.250wall square tube. This is my plan so far.. Let me know what you guys think! "Yays" or "nays" are welcome! I plan on running 16.5" wheels with the 37" hummer tires.
Now for a few pictures.... I'll post more as I go along!!
Jeep when i got it...
And the rear axle after I got it on.
Leaf spring plates, ubolts, and perches...
And can anyone verify that this axle is I'm fact a Sterling 10.25? Or tell me how to?
Thank you ALL for your input!!!
