Regeared, welded perches, shock mounts and bumpstop pads to the Isuzu 44, installed an ox locker and 4.88 gears and pressed new bearings onto the shafts. Basically a fresh unit ready for some abuse. Waiting on the front axle to get back from getting narrowed to waggy width and then I'll start working on it.
Looks like I have some catching up to do on your build. Been a while....
I have some catching up to do as well haha, I don't think I posted about the stiffeners, and I haven't really laid out my axle plan. Hopefully the axles will be good for 37-38s for the distant future.
I've been a busy bee and forgot to update stuff... dana 44s are in and they work, I bought a bus and chopped it for a crawler hauler and I've just been working on stuff.

Wait what? You got a bus!? And then turned it into a short bus with a Jeep on the back? You crazy!
Precisely, 39' bus, cut 14' off, made a 15' bed so now the bus is a hair over 40' long. Still about 16' of interior space I think it is, planning to get it livable in the next few months and take it across the country. I'll be posting a couple more videos of the process and stuff on YouTube once I get around to putting them all together
How did you insure it? How does it like highway speeds? I looked into this a while back before getting my own trailer.
It's a commercial vehicle for private use. It'll do 70, cruising at 65 is best and then if I regear the rear or get 6th unlocked on the Allison it'll cruise 70 probably fine
The Trash Panda now fits its name with the new paint job. Hauled to Uwharrie and back about 500 miles and it got about 9.5 mpg cruising 60-70 no problem. Still need to find someone to unlock 6th gear, but it works. Cherokee spit the rear driveshaft out because the threads on the u-joint u-bolts were kind of messed up, but it was a quick fix and it walked anywhere I pointed it pretty easily.
Been a little bit, finally got a winch on my Cherokee. Pretty much been doing maintenance besides that. Ended up having to modify the bumper a lot more than I planned to, but I guess that's how things go sometimes. There's a lot of things I'd like to do to the Cherokee, but at some point I need to slow down on money in this and build something I can beat the hell out of since I want to keep my Cherokee alive for a while longer.
I'm still alive, the Cherokee is still alive, really only had some tube work done since the last post as well as some maintenance, chromoly front shafts, and yukon locking hubs. The bus is still kicking as well, been running around with the combo. Hope everyone here is still doing well!
Edit: okay I just realized how little of the bus I've put in here. The bus has been tuned, deleted, straight piped, and I swapped from a 6.17 to 4.88 rear diff and she'll do 90 mph now. Been a lot more active on Instagram mostly with a bit of YouTube.
Well the Cherokee and I are still around, but she's getting a full drivetrain transplant from a donor XJ that had 90k miles on it. Got some air bumps to put in the front, have a set of KMC beadlocks and 37s on the shelf, and a few little misc bits and pieces upgrades. Getting her ready for another out west trip, this time only to Moab, but all the way to Johnson valley. I can't remember if I've posted before about this and I don't feel like saving this draft and going to look haha so I might be repeating. I'm slightly more active on Instagram @the_green_dumpster and anyone is always welcome to dm there with questions or to chat about Jeeps and projects

good to see you are still alive! If you need a place to stay while you are out here, I’m only about a hour away from Johnson valley. Got plenty of room for you and many good trails around the house!
