HELP! Im New
I have had 2 jeep cherokees i am 19yrs old and willing to learn whatever neccasary. My first was a 2000 cherokee sport black with a 4.5 rough country suspension lift and 33's, got into an accident (not my fault)
So now I am starting new with a 1999 cherokee classic no lift or anything. So I wondering if I can add the same lift (4.5in rough country) to this jeep? and to my understanding you cannot do a body lift, is that true?
one more thing, I have no knowledge of putting lifts in myself. Is it possible I could do it? Or should I take it somewhere and how much would it cost to have someone else do it. I was able tosave my 33's and plan on using them
thanks

The lift should switch over easily. No, you can't body lift an XJ. They don't have a seperate frame. They're a "uni-body" vehicle.
As for installing the lift yourself. It depends. If everything goes perfect you really only need some hand tools, a jack and a couple jack stands. If bolts break or seize you may need a torch, an angle grinder, a sawz-all or other things. If your rear shock bolts break (likely) you will need something to fix those, either a drill or a punch and a hammer if you can knock the welded nut out. It just depends.

Seriously, not to be a dick. But asking how to installing a lift you'll get flamed here. Take an hour an crawl u see your girl and observe the bolts an everything. Yes you can do it in a driveway a lift makes it easier though. As long as existing kit was for an xj then you'll be good to swap. Before you swap, check the condition of the existing bushings, leafs, coils, etc. like mentioned, go troll jeep builds and look at the pics
