It started out well enough, but then a power transformer blew up nearby, and I lost power.
So this was the end result:
Passenger's side slider installed
Floor patched:
Old cruddy spring mocked up:
Started on opening the wheel opening, but decided to wait until the rockers are installed, and then make all final cuts.

OK, spent a few hours in the garage today, didn't get quite as much accomplished as I had hoped.
BUT this is what I DID get done:
PS fender is skinned...
Looks pretty decent... but I'm not happy with my welding... I could NOT hold a nice tight bead today.
Front subframe to rocker tie in is installed. (the A pillar of the cage will land on this ) Note the build date on the rubber matt! pretty cool!
And a shot from underneath:
This is not build related, but amusing nonetheless:
I went out to the garage around 10:30. Around 14:00 I went outside again, and it was ALL white.
First snow of December:
Should have more updates tomorrow.
Later,
Chris

Sorry, forgot to update here... this is from last weekend.
A lot was accomplished these past few days, I will let the pictures tell the story:
I dont know if the UCA bracket I had Timmay make is going to work... there is so LITTLE room between the engine and the frame that I MAY end up using a totally custom piece that is VERY narrow.
Old UCA still in there... have to hit that with the plasma soon.
This shot shows how tight it is. The upper will have a bend to allow full up-travel. More on this soon.
Looking forward from the rear... the UCA mount is going between the tranny and the tub... it's going to be TIGHT.
The LCA brackets at the axle will be rotated up a few degrees for additional clearance, and better antisquat (antidive?) numbers.
I assembled the DS knuckle to test fit the wheel/ tire.
The PS knuckle went to work with my brother today, and he broke THREE EZ-outs attempting to remove the lower cap retaining bolt.
I'm going to run it with three bolts until I can afford/ find a new knuckle.
Front tire barely sticks out past the body...

I dont Think Timmay will be too upset; I paid him, sent him the CAD file, he cut it and shipped it.
So if I dont use it it's my fault.

WEekend update 2009-12-12/13
So, this past weekend was spent mocking up/ building the front three link and associated brackets.
Here's where we are:
Just waiting for the high steer arms to show up tomorrow, then I can build the track bar brackets.
Looking back toward the cross member, bent/ trussed upper link is shown.
A shot of the truss and my terrible welds...
Not much room between the oil pan and the upper link mount!
looking forward:
Pretty tight on the driver's side too!
