First jeep - 95 sport
Hi all,
New to the jeep world, picked up an xj about a year ago, and love every bit of it. So here is my past year of ownership and what happens next.
I went from this... (along with numerous VW's all lowered and whatnot)
to this!
When I got it, it was stock 95 sport with 3" RC lift and 32 BFG's. Being new to the jeep world, I wasn't aware of the rust issues. So I noticed one (rather large) spot of rust on the floor under drivers seat. What I didn't notice what the abundance of floor that was rotted out. I have more rust than solid floor, so I purchased floor pans a few months ago, plan to put them in once spring hits.
So this was my first winter, and it was a tank. First thing I did was install a CB from my last VW.
After selling the BMW I wanted another car to daily so I didn't have to suffer from a broken wallet at the start from 14mpg xj syndrom. So I bought another VW.
With that, I bought another VW parts car since that what I did best before the jeep. Then I tried to park the jeep on it. At this point I removed the fender flares. Then did the cut n fold and made doors removable.
I then started to make a front bumper for it, painted the sides a little and was somewhat content for a little.
Went offroad a few times and realized I needed a little more work.
So I ordered B Lee's 3 link, B Lee'd HD steering (yet to install) HD offroad shackle relocation brackets, Brown Dog engine mounts, longer shackles, and 4.5" front springs.
So this is where it sits now.
About 4.5-5" of lift
HnT SYE
B Lee's 3 link
B Lee's HD steering
Some crap track bar
Brown Dog engine mounts
HD Offroad shackle relocators
2" lift shackles
And a lot of holes in my floor
UP AND COMING
Install HD steering
2x6 Rocker panel/sliders
Replace floors

Clicked on this randomly today to see you are running B. Lee's
Sweet!
I worked for Brian for a good while and still technically do..helping him with some of the stuff in the background and promoting the product.
If you need any motivation for your build see one of my 7 or 8 build threads in the signature lol

Lookin good man! I have B. Lee's cross over steering and it works great (I wish he had the newer style when I ordered). His 3 link is on my list of upgrades as soon as I have the cash.

Thanks man! Did you run OTK or UTK? Newer style being the HD or the high clearance?

Just running utk for now and by new set up I meant the high clearance one. On full lock to the right the tie rod hits the track bar bolt, not a huge deal.

Cool rig. I am liking that 3 link and upgraded front end ...seems to be getting to be a popular and beefy lift and front end... i may do somthing similar myself .. Congratz ..i will keep eyes open on your build.
