Allow me to introduce my 2001 Patriot Blue XJ that I got for my 16th birthday. I got it with 67,000 miles on it but I just recently broke 73k. From what I've read it sounds like my jeep hasn't even been broken in yet. Also, given that there is such low miles, I'm going to try to keep it somewhat intact so that means not my trail rig beater.
When I got her, she had some seriously bad brakes and at the time I didn't feel confident replacing the corroded lines myself so I paid a mechanic to do it. Wasn't cheap but it was a quality job and I figured brakes are somewhat important.
Next up was my rusted out exhaust. Did a little research on exhausts and I decided I liked the cherry bomb glass pack the best for the money. I clamped it on originally until I could get my hands on a welder to make it airtight.

The lift that's on it is just a 3" budget lift. I'm really hoping to get a long arm kit somewhere down the road but the price point on them makes that a project I won't get to for a while. Currently I've got the stock steelies that came on the police package and I'm running some 31" BF Goodrich Wranglers. Originally they rubbed but I got a new track bar and some 2" spacers and they fit like a dream.
Along with that police package came a better alternator, extended idle switch, plenty of holes drilled in the car inside and out, rubber flooring, transmission cooler, a hole in a A pillar for a cop light, and I think some stronger sway bars do reduce body role.

Thanks! I Just got some new bumpers on her last weekend and I was thinking of painting the steelies gunmetal gray to fit the style. I'm planning on doing it with peel-able paint and seeing if I like it. If not, it takes 5 minutes to get off
New Bumpers front and back. Also my right rear fender flare keeps falling off. I replaced the bracket recently but it hasn't seemed to help much. This may mean new flares soon enough, any suggestions? With the police package on the jeep came an A-pillar light mount. Im thinking of putting a cop light in for night wheeling but we will see

Do those bumpers have tie ins or just for show? From the picture I wouldn't trust them.

Thanks! For light bars I decided to go cheap and see how they hold up. If these fail I'll put down some cash for a good set but I figured I'd try the ebay option first.Originally Posted by JeepMastah

The car originally had tie ins for the cop push bar so I didn't buy any but it turns out they were welded onto the original bumper. I had to take them off in order to install the aftermarket one. I'll be buying some soon before I get my winch. Also any suggestions on companies would be greatly appreciated! Also would I need rear tie ins as well?Originally Posted by SatiricalHen

I had custom tie Ins made by ares fab for my rear bumper, but I believe jcr offroad sells the front tie ins.Originally Posted by Patriot Blue

So I experienced the dreaded death wobble for the first time a couple days ago. I wanted to fix it right away but i had to leave for out of town the next day. Im going to try to get back and get a good diagnosis so I can fix it. Right now safety is my biggest concern so fixing that goes first on my list.

Is this in reference to the 2001 Cherokee tagged with your profile? – Kevin T, Social Connect TeamOriginally Posted by Patriot Blue
